New to the forum so a bit of an introduction is in order. I originally posted one in the Newbie Introductions but figured it may be nice to post one in the subfora as well so here's a more extensive hello (crossposting -slightly different versions- to TTC>35 and Pregnancy Loss)!
I go under the nickname muscari - a play-on-words of one of my husbands Dutch petnames for me, and I love the little blue bulb flowers:) - and hail from The Netherlands where I live in one of the larger cities of the country together with my husband and a bunch of kittycats. I'm in my late 30s, the hubs will be turning 50 later this year. We've been together for little over 8 years and had originally planned to start ttc after getting married in 2010 but unfortunately we ended up having to postpone for several years due to my heart arrythmia issues [underwent 3 ablations surgeries over the course of 2 years, am happy to say three seems to have been the charm and am doing much better these days and have managed to stay med-free since]. We've been ttc since fall 2013 and got our first BFP this past early January. I could hardly believe it, and it's taken me 7 hpts over the course of 4 days to believe it wasn't a faulty test It wasn't until the CBdigital said 'pregnant' that I decided I really had to be pregnant haha. Sadly this pregnany ended in a loss; during our 9wk U/S there was no heartbeat to be found and the baby measured a lot smaller then it should have. I had a medically-assisted miscarriage which unfortunately was incomplete so I had to have a d/c 3.5 weeks later after all. I'm currently 6 weeks post-d/c and have my check up appointment with the ob/gyn who performed the d/c tomorrow.
These past weeks have been an emotional (and physical) rollercoaster. The whole MC sure threw me for a loop and has made this whole TTC and pregnancy thing quite confusing to me emotionally (as if it wasn't already all those months heh).. I find it difficult to talk about certain things with those closer to me especially since the MC and so I'm reaching out online now. I will likely frequent this board, as well as the PL and hopefully also the CAL one soonish.. and I am looking forward getting to know you all:)
