10 Emotions You Will Face While Waiting to Adopt

I saw this article pop up on facebook this morning. Read it and thought holy s***t I'm not crazy!! 

As of late, I think I've been circling around anger and fear. Anger that we've been trying to add to our family for three years now and we are nowhere closer to that dream and the fear that it will never happen. 

Anyone have good ideas for coping with these emotions? As I've late, I've been using the awful one of not talking about it and thus not sleeping. I could sure use some better suggestions.

You are not crazy! I became such a mess during our first wait. I had every emotion in the article and more. I won't claim to have the longest wait ever but 1.5 yrs (after a long time on IF treatments) seemed like an unbearable eternity. I did not get through it well I can tell you that . I was jealous of anyone who got pregnant, anyone who was matched. I was not a happy person. I wish I could have enjoyed the time but I really feel like I wished away 1.5 yrs of my life which is sad.

If you told me 2.5 yrs ago that by April 2015 we would have 2 kids I would have said you were crazy. My only words of wisdom being on the other side of the wait is that i now would not want to have had it any other way. It sounds so clique to say but it's the truth.

I saw this one today and sent it onto my husband ... we both agreed that it was nice confirmation that we're not weird for going through this.

I don't have any advice. We're trying to figure out what to do. We normally have some big vacation to look forward to each summer, but didn't want to book one this year (for obvious reasons ). We decided just to scrap that and are now looking at a vacation within the US. Disney came up last night ... but not sure how I feel about 2 adults without kids going there

Also saw this today and it was much needed!  We are the opposite of pinkie, in that our wait for our first child was extremely quick (3 months since active) and our wait for our second is now on 16 months.  We've added a bunch of other outreach besides our national agency but I am often think it might not happen for us again. Trying to remain hopeful that our child is out there but we are questioning if we'll do another home study update or not.
