Hi ladies! I've been lurking off and on for a while and wanted to go ahead and intro so I could get involved in the conversations.
My name is Beth. DH and I have been married for 9 years. We have one bio daughter, Emma 2, and one doggie daughter, Goldie 13. I struggled with IF and one loss before Emma then struggled with IF and two more losses while trying to conceive a sibling. We have decided to put having more bio children on the back burner for now (possibly forever) and get licensed to foster babies 18 months and under through a private agency.
We finished up our classes last week. We have completed the initial home visit, I have completed my individual interview and DH has his next week. We have completed most paperwork, but I haven't gotten my fingerprint results back yet. We have a few things to finish up around the house before we schedule our final home study. Our SW is expecting us to be licensed by mid-late summer depending on how fast/slow the gov't is running.
If anyone has any questions feel free to ask! I am hoping to get involved in the community here if y'all will have me! Are there lots of foster parents around here? I know I have seen a few mentions of it while lurking.
DH and I are in the process of getting a foster license through the state of CT. Our licensing SW is hoping to have us licensed by the end of May. We are hoping to adopt, but any child that is placed with us will be our foster child until TPR occurs (and that's not guaranteed).
