Her husband has taken the name debate to the internet with a petition. She seems to hate the name, which honestly I think is bad but it's a family name.
Okay my first thought is that the name is awful. But I clicked on his petition and he makes some good points lol. Especially since he is Greek and the wife Russian. I mean I'm having a hard time trying to pronounce the wife's name. (though that might be why she's trying to give her kid a "normal" name)
How do you even pronounce that?? Just because it's a family name doesn't mean it should be repeated lol
Seriously!
He had some well thought out points and I liked that he conceded to his wife for any middle name she wants and she can name a daughter or future son whatever she wants. But he really turned me off saying that it was his God-given right. If I were his wife, I'd probably agree to it as a first name if it was understood that they would call the child by a mutually agreed upon middle name.
pinkluna, I was thinking the same thing about the wifes name too... Does she not want the name simply because she doesn't like it, or because it's unique and she doesn't like her name?!?! Not sure.
Either way, her name is ridic too.
Why can't they compromise with a middle name - I'll admit I vetoed a lot of names (even the idea of some family names) even for middle names. But if he's so insistent, and she's willing to compromise (if he gets enough votes) then a middle name is a good compromise.
