Speaking of sleep...What are they wearing to bed?

Okay, so this has been our biggest struggle. 
He hates the swaddle and outgrew the merlin suit

We have a microfleece sleep sack, and I can't tell if he is too warm/too cold. He wiggles so much and likes to sleep on his side, so I think he was struggling to get into a good side position in the sleep sack. It's warming up, but we actually put the heat up, like closer to 70-72 degrees, somewhere in there and tried no blanket/sleepsack/anything. I think it worked well, but still feels a bit chilly in the early morning, and when we put him in bed with us he's cozy and falls asleep instantly. 

So, now I loosely "swaddle" him with an aden and anais muslin blanket. It's below his armpits and it's breathable. And he's right next to me, so I can hear if he moves and see him if he happens to get tangled (which doesn't happen, if it un swaddles it's usually kicked to the end of the PNP). I'm almost to the point where I am ready for him to go to the crib, but not comfortable with the blanket situation when I can't see him.

He wears a onesie and a cotton footie pajama every night.

So any ideas? Do you do something different? Maybe I'll just wait till it warms up a bit more. That way no blanket will be fine with a footie and then next year when it's cold we can try sleep sack or blanket. I don't know. hmmm.

She sleeps in a onesie, cotton PJs, and a fleece sleep in the PNP. She likes to turn on her side to fall asleep or during sleep. Our room temp starts around 70 and falls to the mid-60s overnight. We turn the thermostat down at night.

She does wake up with cold hands, but her core is warm as is her neck.

Not going to be much help here since LO runs hot and sleeps better cool, so she's in a onesie and a cotton jam. Our house is on the warmer end (radiator heat and controlled by the building so no clue on the temp).

DD just wears a cotton footed sleeper. She's a warm baby and we keep the temperature comfortable throughout the night. Not sure what temp exactly, the thermostat in our apartment is weird.

LO wears a onesie under her zippidy zip! She LOVES getting in it and knows it signals bedtime. And she looks adorable she is still a tiny bit too small for it but it does help with her startle reflex a bit!

So this would help with the no blanket. It's cotton and light. We keep the room at 70 but she co-sleeps which keeps her a little warmer

I've been wondering about this! LO sleeps in in footed Pjs and a sleep sack. She has a few different ones so depending on how warn they are depends on how many layers. Like tonight just cotton footed pjs and her micro fleece sleep sack. We keep our house at 67ish and she seems pretty content in that. It's supposed to really heat up this weekend so I don't know what we'll do.

Lo sleeps in a cotton footed onesie and a cotton halo sleep sack. If it's cold I'll put him in a fleece halo sleep sack.

Over here we do a onsie and a fleece sleep sack. Temp is 69 or 70. Same as other people have said, cold hands in the am, but I have heard that babies really do much better sleeping on the colder side. He does manage to get himself into his side at night recently in the sack, so it's good to see he can keep that mobility.

When it was colder we'd maybe do a onesie and a fleece sleep sack, then we did the sleep sack by itself. But now that she is thrashing when she wakes up, we do just a onesie (with socks; momma wears socks all the time too) and A&A swaddle or no swaddle and she's next to me.

Okay thanks! Glad to know that he can be blanketless and be okay. I think because even if its over 100 degrees out I still need a blanket on me to sleep. But I think that's "learned" and he doesn't know the difference yet.

jjh1119, For what its worth, last week when we were on vacation, it was too warm to put LO in any sort of pjs so he slept in a short sleeve onsie with an aden and anaise swaddle blanket loosely swaddled below his armpits.

Thanks! ninergirl52 we need new air conditioners for the summer but if that doesn't happen I think by the middle of the summer he will just be in a diaper lol

He sleeps with only whatever he is wearing for naps and is fine

LO sleeps in either a onesie or footed Pjs or shorts and shirt pajamas with an Aden and Annis sleep blanket, it's made from same material as their swaddle blankets but zips up. It's light but just enough to keep him feeling warm and cozy

irishprncss19, Which Aden & Annis sleep blanket do you use? Such a great idea, I use the halo sleep sacks but even the cotton ones feel heavy right now (its been warm here the last few days). Are they as light as the swaddle blankets?

I found it at babies r us. It's made by them and zips from top to bottom and is sleeveless. They are the same exact material as the swaddle blankets (feeling that way). I'll look at the tag when I get home

This is such a helpful thread! We probably only have a couple more weeks before DD outgrows her sleep suit and I am SCARED for when that happens! She's a terrible napper, and I'm convinced she only sleeps well at night because of her sleep suit (gulp).
