Picking an agency

On previous posts, I have said multiple times how unhappy my DH and I were with our agency and the Social Worker we were assigned. We have decided to change agencies and went back to the very first one we requested info from when we first started thinking about adoption. When we first had the informational meeting at Bethany awhile ago, we were actually looking at DIA but then we learned about the FTA and deiced it was better for us and went with CHS because they are state funded.
Bethany is not state funded, we have to pay for everything. We had a private meeting with a Social Worker from there and the way she described the process sounded so much easier and clear. She was saying how it is actually a good thing that DH and I are not the traditional Caucasian couple and how our culture can play in our favor. She emphasized how most of the kids they place are younger (maybe they thought we want toddlers) then I mentioned I saw these kids on the site and I know it is hard and all but I asked if they were still waiting for a home. She not only confirmed that but also provided some more info and told us a facebook page we could see more pictures of the kids. I almost cried. That woman was so positive and nice, here is where my fear lays: What if she is just saying what she thinks we want to hear but it is not true? (My Brazilian side kicks in) What if she takes our money and then we fall into the cycle of taking too long to do the home studies, or she is not responsive? We found another agency that is state funded too, but we didnt choose them because the Social Worker would have to drive 4 hours each way to come to our home and they took 3 weeks to respond one simple email and never returned my call.
I bet you are wondering, what do I want? It is pretty obvious that my mind is going 100km/hr. I want to hear from people who have worked with Bethany how their experience was. Anyone here who is willing to share?
