How are you feeling?
Icky right now.
Have you lost or gained any weight this week? What is your doc's recommendation for weight gain (if known)?
Currently losing weight, which is not surprising between increased metabolism and massive decrease in eating. People have commented on how I'm clearly losing weight again (I was trying before the attempted ankle break in March). I haven't seen the doc, but my last recommended "as little as possible." A former caregiver told me to gain no weight and I was incredulous. My fabulous former OB said her concern wasn't with weight gain, it was with healthy eating. So long as I maintained a healthy diet, the weight would be what it needed to be. I appreciated that approach, and actually came in at the end down ~20 lbs from where I started. I went down about 30 lbs from beginning to mid-pregnancy, and gained about 12 back from the lowest point. The OB team was pleased with that.
Is there anything stressing you out about being plus-size in early pregnancy?
Less concerned about early pregnancy. Though I bought several items of clothing just before I got pregnant that were fitting and going to be too large if I lost weight that are fitting perfectly now thanks to bloat. Sigh. I don't think I'll be able to get as much use of them as I might hope.
Didn't see this posted, so thought I'd start. And then edit to fix. Because quoting and editing are not the same thing, pregnancy brain.

How are you feeling? Nauseous.
Have you lost or gained any weight this week? What is your doc's recommendation for weight gain (if known)? I've maintained which I'm happy with. My OB recommends that I try to maintain until about 20wks if possible (but not to stress of I gain a few pounds) and keep my total weight gain to 15lbs or under. I think it sounds very reasonable.
Is there anything stressing you out about being plus-size in early pregnancy? I just really want to keep it under control...I want to stay as healthy as I can for the baby's sake

How are you feeling? Ok, a lot more nausea today than any day so far.
Have you lost or gained any weight this week? What is your doc's recommendation for weight gain (if known)? I have no idea and should really start tracking.
Is there anything stressing you out about being plus-size in early pregnancy? No, I'm trying to eat healthier than before. I'm not always succeeding. I'm mainly nervous about gestational diabetes since I had it last time. I should ask my ob of they will be testing earlier because I had it last time. Even the idea of testing gives me some anxiety, though I know there are worse things.

How are you feeling? Tired and bloated. Blah!
Have you lost or gained any weight this week? What is your doc's recommendation for weight gain (if known)? Since I just recently found out, I wouldn't say my weight has changed at all. I did loss over 20 lbs before conceiving, but I would assume that my weight recommendation will be the same as before, about 15-20 lbs.
Is there anything stressing you out about being plus-size in early pregnancy? The threat of GD. I had it horrible with my boys and I've been on insulin for all 3 of my pregnancies. It's usually my fasting numbers that are bad, but all numbers were bad with my first pregnancy. I'm hoping the weight loss and Met will keep me out of the GD camp this time around.
Diagnosis: Endometriosis and PCOS 5/23/2011 - Twin boys born 2/15/2013 - Daughter, lost due to T21 6/24/2014 - Twin boys, lost at 13 weeks 12/21/2015 - Boy born

Generally, the answer is yes. They test me early because of my size. I have not had GD; I passed my first 1-hour and then failed my second 1-hour by 5 points and passed the 3-hr with flying colors.
Everyone I know who has had GD in a prior pregnancy - plus-size or not - has been tested early, usually right out of first tri. Though one friend was tested at 8 weeks because she was insulin-dependent her first pregnancy and had to re-start Metformin at 10 weeks which kept things reasonable until about 20 weeks for her.
Some people I know who were borderline or diet-controlled in prior pregnancies were also allowed to monitor sugars for a specified time in lieu of the GTT. That might be worth asking about if the testing gives you anxiety.

Thank you for the info. I will definitely ask about monitoring sugars. I was diet-controlled last time but by no means borderline. In fact I didn't even get to take the 3 hour test because I failed so miserably. That was something I was mentally unprepared for since all my research told me about the 3 hour test being next. It made me a total wreck.

How are you feeling?
Generally pretty good, having a few bouts of MS. Sleep is an elusive creature which I cannot seem to find.
Have you lost or gained any weight this week? What is your doc's recommendation for weight gain (if known)?
I have lost 5 lbs. I started a high fat moderate protein and very low carb diet 3 months ago and have lost 20 lbs. I am currently following that plan but I added more fat and protein to maintain weight (which must not be enough since I lost this week) I gained 75 lbs with my last pregnancy and did not lose much of the weight last time. My dr. is on board with my eating plan. We haven't discussed what my total weight gain should be but I am aiming to keep it where I am plus 10 lbs.
Is there anything stressing you out about being plus-size in early pregnancy?
That I am going to gain weight like I did last pregnancy, to my benefit I was a smoker and when I got my BFP last time around I quit instantly and never picked up another cigarette. I gained 20 lbs in 1 month from quitting, I also went in with the mentality that I was eating for 2 and I could have whatever I wanted, 4 PB & J sandwiches a day is not recommended. This time I will pick healthy snack and continue to work out.

For me, they tested my A1C at 12 weeks after I had insulin-dependent GD with my twins. The A1C was high so they had me start monitoring my blood sugars. My fasting was still high, so back on insulin I went.
I also failed the 1-hour test so miserably that they skipped the 3-hour and put me right on insulin for my first pregnancy.

I'm glad you shared. It's nice to hear your experience. I feel certain I'll have it again. We'll see.

How are you feeling? I haven't thrown up in a week so I am pretty stoked about that. My last pregnancy I still had some morning sickness late into my second tri!
Have you lost or gained any weight this week? What is your doc's recommendation for weight gain (if known)? I have lost 5 pounds since my bfp but they will consider yesterday's first appointment as the starting point for tracking weight. My doctor's goal for me is to gain between 15 and 25 pounds. When I gave birth at 30 weeks last pregnancy I had only gained 1 pound so I think it is definitely do-able.
Is there anything stressing you out about being plus-size in early pregnancy? I will add that I also hate the early glucose tolerance test! The glucola makes me so sick!

How are you feeling? No symptoms yet.
Have you lost or gained any weight this week? What is your doc's recommendation for weight gain (if known)? Weight is same. Last time was 10-15 lbs. I had same starting weight and will guess it will be same.
Is there anything stressing you out about being plus-size in early pregnancy? Nope. Last pregnancy went well. Anticipating this will be the same.

How are you feeling? Pretty okay compared to most ladies it sounds. Some mild nausea, tired, and sore boobs mostly
Have you lost or gained any weight this week? What is your doc's recommendation for weight gain (if known)? I haven't gained any yet. I track almost daily and I'm hovering around the same number give or take a few every day. I'm guessing she'll want me to gain less than 20.
Is there anything stressing you out about being plus-size in early pregnancy? I'm worried about GD. My fasting glucose is always low and I passed my GTT with my RE with flying colors when I was doing my fertility testing. I'm hoping that sticks with me during my pregnancy.

How are you feeling? Tired. Food aversions. Hardly ever hungry and when I eat, I can't eat much.
Have you lost or gained any weight this week? What is your doc's recommendation for weight gain (if known)? I've definitely lost weight over the past 8 weeks. But, I was on meds due to IVF so I gained because of that. Now I'm back to my pre-IVF weight. I wouldn't be shocked if I lose more weight considering I never want to eat. Doctor didn't say much yet about what to gain. I'm guessing my RE is waiting for my OB to address it with me in my next appointment.
Is there anything stressing you out about being plus-size in early pregnancy? GD worries me most. I'm also worried about gaining too much weight during pregnancy and even if the baby is healthy...not being able to take are of it because I'm too unhealthy (with weight).

How are you feeling? Yucky
Have you lost or gained any weight this week? What is your doc's recommendation for weight gain (if known)? I've been up and down a bit. I had a loss of appetite at first, then it was back, now I'm nauseous but snacking to try to fend it off. I will be asking what the recommended weight gain is at my first appt.
Is there anything stressing you out about being plus-size in early pregnancy? I'm worried people won't be able to tell I'm pregnant. Also worried about fitting into clothes! lol I'm already really bloated and it's quite uncomfortable.
