I'm up for the day durging the week at 5:30. DH takes way more time to primp than I do so he gets up at 5. You'd think that would be the other way around. Then we're all out of the house at 6:45. I wish sleeping later on the weekends were possible but they're full of errands and obligations. I don't have a free weekend till June.
I'm going to do my best to try the Ferber method this week and see how it goes but if last night was any indication then we should be good. My monster baby went down last night at 8:30 in his crib, was up a few times but went right back to sleep each time with one Motn feeding!!!! I would hear him stir, wait five mins then go soothe him without picking him up ...BOOM! Back to sleep. It was really great. No wailing to be held, no thrashing or "whale tailing". We did have a "stare down" after his feeding though, I put him back in the crib and he looked at me as if to say "Nope, mommy I am NOT going to sleep. I want to play. " but I didn't pick him up. Eventually he put his cute little head to the side and gave up, closed his eyes and slept the rest of the night. Yay!
zengal My baby is against schedules. Sometimes I'm up for good at 4:30, other days it's around 6:30. Nights have been TERRIBLE around here lately. Let's just say I'll probably have more to add to the sleep deprivation thread.

We usually get up between 5-6. Myles has been thrashing and partially waking about once an hour the last few nights. He doesn't need a bottle, just a pacifier and patting, but it feels constant. I'm wiped the eff out. I kind of want to cry right now. Coffee please. ... Going to sleep deprivation thread with nerdalert Screw you 4 month sleep regression
Oh man you guys. I don't know how you all survive the day getting up. Neither of us has a time we HAVE to get up (except Saturday's- I'm up at 6:30). We are usually up between 7 and 8. But from 4 am on he is thrashing around and now that he is rolling around we are getting kicked all over the place lol
I haven't had oatmeal in a while but had some today and it was yummy. For those that still have oatmeal a lot: steel cut oatmeal made with milk and a bit of water. Maple syrup, fresh blueberries and shredded coconut. Yum

This will be my breakfast tomorrow! Sounds awesome.

LO usually goes to sleep around 9 pm in his crib and is up anytime between 1-3 am, he usually comes back to bed with us at that time and then I'm up at 5:53 am (odd time yes, but I've found 7 minutes is what I need to pee, and get on a conference call at 6 am and actually sound awake). DH handles lo until I'm off my call. He usually wakes up a few minutes after I get up. We all try to sleep in on the weekends.
Today is looking to be a quiet one (famous last words) work wise. So I may keep LO home with me. Nothing exciting to report on at the moment. But we will be commencing day 3 of Operation "Take a Friggin' Bottle Kid."
LO finally ate well again yesterday and most of the day before. She was asleep between 10:30-11 pm last night, but woke around 2am. <sigh> I stood by the PNP and patted her back to sleep, which took a bit. <yawn>
During the week I get up around 0630 to pump before getting myself ready for the day and waking LO. On the weekend, it's a bit later.
We're up between 6:20 and 6:30 like clock work. Although recently we've seen an odd 5:30 or 5:50 wake up. Those are the WORST.
I drank too much wine with my boss last night and have been up since 3:30 wake up. It's going to be a really long day. I will be going to bed at the same time as LO tonight. 6:30 is an appropriate bedtime for a 1669 week old right?
LO gets up anywhere between 7 and 8:30, and I get up with her. DH has to wake her up Tuesday-Friday, though (the days I work) because he leaves to take her to daycare at 7 sharp...I unfortunately have to be in my car at 5:45 to get to work on time >.< She's recently been going down at 8:30-9pm and only waking up 1-2x to eat at around 1:30 and 3:30 and going right back to sleep afterwards (I bf the first feeding and hubby gives a bottle at the second), but twice in the last week she woke up just once at 2 or 3 and didn't wake for a second feeding! She's getting so big gotta say tho, little jealous of hubby, since the skipped feeding is his so he got to sleep the WHOLE NIGHT - no fair!!

spiraltheory, My LO was waking up every hour... sometimes multiple times an hour a few weeks ago. He would lose his pacifier and get upset. I am not sure if this is good advice, but we ended up taking away the paci for the nights. He has been sleeping SO much better. We've been having only 2 MOTN feedings and that's it! Naps are a different story... but his nights have gotten much better. My Wed. Random= I am so grateful to my MIL. She comes over every tues. so that I can go run errands. Great! However, she drives me crazy!! I think she thinks I don't love my son because I will say things like "he's not a good sleeper" or "he's crabby I think he's teething". She will come back with "Oh but grandma thinks your so wonderful... maybe I'll be able to convince mommy and daddy how good you are". I've gotten to the point where I can't tell her anything real. Even if he has had a rough morning I lie and just talk about how perfect my baby is. It is SO irritating!!!!
So this is the first time in God knows how long that Liam took his afternoon nap without needing to go for a ride. I don't mind as long as he sleeps but now I can actually get some work done!

pixie523 thanks for the giggle! Lo is nursing right now & I am going to attempt to put him in his crib afterwards. For some odd reason he won't nap in his crib. I'm going to give it the ole college try.
Hey ladies, hope you are enjoying your days. Sorry I've been MIA lately, lo is really been a handful! And yes singingmama10 we can say that and still love them dearly (that crap with your MIL would piss me off!) ninergirl52 good luck with the nap! jjh1119 Yay for the afternoon nap, hope you can get some stuff done or maybe just take 10mins to yourself
I've been trying to transition lo to her pnp from the rnp and it has been really hard. She will only sleep for 2 hours at a time at night and that's after she trashes around for 20mins just trying to get to sleep. She's also been doing this thing where she lifts both legs and slams the down really hard....did someone else here call that whale tail or something?? All in all we have been sleeping really badly and I'm losing my shit a bit
kfaye My LO does the slamming both legs down thing too. And yeah this lack of sleep thing is really starting to get to me. I am really irritable all the time, and I feel like I'm about to lose it in the MOTN when LO wakes up after 15 minutes for the 100th time. I wish I could nap with her during the day, but crib naps only last 30 mins tops. She will only take a good, long nap in my arms. Ugh. All I want is some decent sleep!!
nerdalert sing it sister! Sleep will come eventually, right? I was so out of it last night I couldn't remember when I had fed her last, or which boob I had left off with. I ended up feeding her every time, and usually on the right! I couldn't believe it when it had only been an hour of sleep every time
That nap was 10 minutes long so I packed us up and went to the shop and made DH watch him a few while I got caught up. Then drove around so he could actually sleep. Leaves me to do nothing but drive. But if he doesn't nap life is just awful until it's time to sleep.
If DH tells me one more time how exhausted he is, I am going to book a hotel for the night and let him do an overnight all by himself to REALLY feel tired. The insomnia I had the last two months of pregnancy plus a shitty sleeping kid=no sleep for 7 months. He can suck it
I'm just getting the chance to fully catch up today so I'm not going to do tag. I'm terrible about waking up when I "should" I should be getting up at 6 but it's usually about 6:45 haha. I swear LO likes to have her longer stretch in the morning so it's hard to get up when she's sleeping. On the weekends she's usually up between 7:30 and 8. I ended up going home yesterday at lunch and had a fever of 102.6 I felt like shit. Thankfully it was gone by the time I went to sleep and now in just have a sore throat, I have no idea what's going on. I just really really hope LO doesn't catch it. But enough about my pity party...
singingmama10 I can't believe your MIL that would drive me crazy!
kfaye good luck on transitioning LO to the PNP I recently took out the bassinet part of mine and she's been sleeping better. Not sure if it's a coincidence or not.
I hope everyone's littles have better naps tomorrow! I can't wait to see my LO tonight. Is it the weekend yet?
jjh1119 my husband will do that too! Occasionally he has a real reason to be tired because he didn't get much sleep because of work, but even then it's usually only one or two nights. Men...

It HAS been 7 months since I slept right! This is precisely why my eye twitches every time DH says he's exhausted because "I wake up early to go to work every day!!" Um, yeah, you also say, oh she had a pretty good night, huh - on the nights when we were up three times for an hour and a half each. He has no idea.
