I totally feel your pain. Taxes with divorces/kids are the WORST.  My DH has two sons with his ex wife. She claims both of them, along with all their daycare expenses, because she has primary residence, although we pay 2000+ month for daycare expenses and private school (on top of child support). I think there has to be some sort of in between, however when you're the only one taking care of them and supporting them, I think you should get to claim everything.

IF he had paid half of daycare and provided CS and all those other things that you're supposed to, then I would have zero issues with it, but he didn't.  He paid for DSs child care while I was on maternity leave and only getting paid 60%.  He bought him 2 pairs of WalMart shoes.  No birthday presents, no Christmas presents, NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Fuck him with a diseased bag of dicks!

Wtc is with the constant spitting up DS? I thought maybe you'd grow out of it, but now that you are constantly rolling and on your belly my carpets are taking a direct hit. Yuck!
Eta: It doesn't bother him when he does it, he's not in pain or anything, it's just more of an annoyance constantly changing his outfits. Plus he ends up wiping his face all in it if he's on his belly.

My office is trying to close early for snow. The roads are awful. Yet every patient doesn't want to reschedule. Why risk bringing your 85 year old mother to a non-urgent appointment, and then ask if there is somewhere to park that is covered, so she wont have to walk in the snow???

This is more FWP but...

WTF Phonoscope? Apparently our work internet went out around 1:30am. A guy didn't appear to even take a look at it till about 9:30. Then he walked out of our building without even telling us any report on it! The 'net came up close to noon, but man, give us some info maybe?

So much of our work requires the internet, we were left staring wistfully at out computers. I couldn't even work on stuff that didn't require the internet since it couldn't load my profile.

A day late, but it all happened yesterday, I'm just still pissed about it!

My DCP (who is basically an aunt) is totally allowed to take LO out on walks, errands, etc. We don't have to be asked about it in advance, but I don't mind when she does, and she did ask when she wanted to drive about 45 minutes away for lunch with a friend and they'd be gone all day.

It's been the case that a lot of the days she takes LO out, her schedule has been all messed up (no afternoon nap, gets her last bottle about an hour before I get there instead of 2 hours like she's supposed to, etc.). Most days, it's ok, just a little frustrating (LO doesn't want to eat when I pick her up, is a grump when we get home, etc.) Every once and a while, it works out great, because she ends up bringing LO to my office instead of me picking her up, so I like the flexibility.

Yesterday was a disaster, though. I was about halfway to picking LO up after work, and I got a text from DCP's daughter (my good friend) saying "My mom forgot her phone, we have your baby, and we're downtown" (shopping area further away from my home/work). When I called them to figure out WTF was happening, it turned out DCP had driven to her daughter's house, left car (including my car seat & baby stuff) there, and walked a couple miles to do some shopping and get ice cream. That meant that instead of driving to DCP's house like most days, I had to go pick up stuff out of her car, THEN drive to meet them. I was not able to feed LO at pickup like I normally do, so I was worried she wouldn't make it through the errands we needed to run, but it all worked out because she was having a bottle. At her normal pick up time.

The worst part of all of it was when I finally got LO home, she had a huge blowout diaper that looked like it had been there a while. I'm pretty sure DCP missed it while they were out, and I feel extra bad, because I didn't change her until after I ran all my errands.

tl;dr WTF DCP - Can I have more than 5 minutes notice that I'm meeting you at some random street corner instead of your house to pick up my child? And it's your JOB to take care of her - can you make sure she naps and change her diaper when it's a huge blowout?

That's pretty messed up. IF she is going to run errands, she needs to make sure that things are taken care of well in advance from your pickup time. Babies thrive on schedules and she needs to respect that if she's going to be caring for an infant. I'd be pretty irked as well. She will probably keep taking advantage unless you make certain things clear to her. I wouldn't want to have that convo though.

This happens with SIL and DH sometimes.. I'm so thankful that family has her while I'm at work, but I lose a lot of structure and scheduling. Some days DD eats 12 oz and sometimes 6, sometimes she sleeps in and sometimes she doesn't. We will have to put her in normal daycare (either in-home or center) this summer and I'm starting to wonder if that may be a good thing. Just so there is routine.

I did let her know when I picked her up that that wasn't really enough notice, and that it was frustrating for me that I had to change all of my plans for the afternoon. DCP hasn't ever worked full time outside her home (at least since she had kids 30+ years ago), so I don't think she really understands how tight our scheduling actually is, and how one day feeds into the next (didn't eat enough after work, so had a MOTN wakeup to eat, so we're all exhausted).

H does drop-offs, but I texted her this morning to say "hope she can get good naps in today, she did not sleep well last night" and left it at that.

It's frustrating, because when they're at home, I think she's awesome, and LO loves her!
