I am 32 weeks + 4 days and have gestational diabetes. I have been going to dr once a week since 28 weeks. Today I had NST and Ultrasound and the ultrasound tech noticed a "band" or could possibly be a just a shadow over the top of my cervix. She said nothing to stess or worth about but I'm going to anyway. I have an appointment with a high risk dr Wed. Anyone have any experience with this?
Today I met with the high risk doctor.. Everything look great with my baby boy! There were no "bands" or anything to be concerned with. He is still facing my back so we still haven't seen his face again! I'm just so releived everything was ok! Dr said it looks like we have a lazy baby on our hands! Haha

Thanks! She told me may just mean I will need a section. That it may prevent him from moving down. She told me not to loose sleep about it so surely it's no big deal right? Lol. My husband thinks I'm overthinking it.. I hope so!

When I had GD with DS I saw the MFM (regularly), even though my OB was (and did) deliver. I think it's normal to gave at least a consult with a high risk Dr when GD is involved. Hopefully it's NBD.
No experience with this, but just wanted to say I hope everything turns out okay. If it were truly something you needed to worry about, I think they would have gotten you an appointment sooner than next wednesday. To me it just sounds like they are being cautious and thorough. Try not to stress!
This! At this stage if they were worried you'd be in the hospital right now. Better to have a specialist investigate but that doesn't mean there is anything wrong. Also, if the worse case scenario is a c-section than it means you and the baby are perfectly healthy!

Agree with both! If they were truly concerned, something would have been done the day of. I know it's difficult not to worry. They have to be overly cautious. Remember, they have seen it all and done it all in an OB's office. STAY AWAY from the internet too! That is breaking rule number one!
Hi, nice to meet you? I know NST are very stressful. I hope its just a shadow or nothing to be concerned about. Feel free to come back and update us Wednesday or participate in any of our other threads.
I mean this in a *sorry you are stressing* *a little bit snarky* *but overall welcoming* way

As someone who is also getting sent to MFM (for previa), I am looking at it as the fact that my OB wants a second opinion. The MFM is highly trained, so being in their care is a good thing. I would much rather that as opposed to my dr perhaps being out of her depth. Try to relax til your appointment and let us know how it goes!

Hahahaha! I have struggled with this site.. I have been lurking since day 1 but it always tries to tell me I'm not registered when I try and log in!!

Thanks ladies!! That's what my husband is saying too. Normally he is the worrier! I just wish I knew right now what the deal is. Wednesday is so far away! Lol!

This is one of the problems with pregnancy. Everything could be nothing, or it could be something, and even though it's usually nothing, we tend to assume we're the rare case of it being a BFD. PP have said it well--at this point, if they were really worried, you'd have already been sent to a specialist or for a more in depth ultrasound.
Here's hoping you're the most boring pregnant lady the high risk Dr. has ever seen.
I agree with the PP. If they were truly worried, they would have scheduled your next visit/test much sooner. Try to stay away from dr. Google (which is really really hard) and trust that your Dr would let you know if there's an issue. T&P and hoping it's a minor issue (there are worse things than having to deliver via c-section)
Baby Elliott (technically) due 6.13.2015 but born via c-section on 4.12.2015 at 31w1d after 31d of hospital arrest (think house arrest) for monitoring.

Yay for a good update. And baby facing your back is a good thing I know it doesn't help you see his face but that's how you want him for L&D.
