Should I snuggle with LO or clean new bottles, wash new clothes, and put away small ones? Time to start cereal today? Need to wash some spoons and bowls we were given. Wipes down our hand me down high chair?

DH and SS are at a scout even. LO fell asleep on the walk home from church. My house is sooo quiet and I don't even know what to do with myself. Maybe I can finally sit and read a Sunday paper with a cup of coffee for once!!
I will simplify the new bottle cleaning and NOT microwave steam sterilize. I can't steam sterilize the bowl and spoon she will eat with. Besides, sucking on her toes is probably way grosser.

G'Morning. Myzie is playing on the floor and I'm having a cup of coffee. It's my husband's morning to sleep in. Yesterday I slept until 8:30. It was amazing. I was able to get so much done yesterday because my sisters had Myles. I'm so thankful. We'll still have to do the house and grocery shopping today, but I'm actually caught up with school work. gldnbearz - I have to wash the spoons and bowls I bought last week too. Oh, and I bought some trays to freeze homemade purées that I should wash. My babe still isn't quite ready though. We've tried little bites of stuff, but he just spits it out. I'll buy a few things (banana, sweet potato) this week for more experimenting. We're taking it slow. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, friends!
gldnbearz yes snuggles- no need to steam sterilize. Wash just one bowl and spoon I actually use our own regular bowls and use the rubber tipped baby spoons. No need for extra plastic stuff.
littleapplemom I hope you're even able to FINISH the coffee. That's the best part
Having another family over for a baby, beers and brunch afternoon. It should be fun!
I also 100% believe sleep begets sleep now. Shit nap day yesterday lead to a bad night where I had a tiny bed hog monster next to me all night. Oh well. Hopefully better tonight? Maybe?
gldnbearz, that's the best kind of being trapped! Yay for baby snuggles!
DD just got done with a nice long nap. It was on me-napping still isn't going well unless she's being held, but at least it was a nap, and I got cuddles. Bonus!
littleapplemom damn. I wish we can just set a timer for naps and they don't wake up till the timer goes off.
When you invent this, let me know. I will be your first investor.
Is it weird that we are just starting to get swing naps now... at 5 months old? Yes? Okay.
Today is Thursday here at the Flower household! Tomorrow will be our Friday and I am really ready for H to have two days off. He goes in to see the knee doctor on Wednesday... and of course his knee is feeling "so much better!" now. I'm hoping they will still scan it to see what's going on. Not that I want to pay for an MRI/CAT scan, but I feel like that's what it needs.
Oh, and happy two year engagiversary to me. Crazy how much life can change in 24 months!!
I stopped drinking coffee the first week back home after LO was born. I couldn't stand reheated coffee. I started drinking it again after returning to work. It helps that work got a Keurig while I was gone.
wildflower810, I hope it's not too weird...DD is just a couple weeks shy of 5 months, and she still only usually naps when she's being held. I know it's a habit we need to break, I'm just not sure how.

Dh leaves for a 2 week business trip tomorrow. So I've got a combo of family helping out, but mostly my mom. Yay! Oh & can someone explain to me why Lanisoh bottles are impossible to find in a store?? Seriously I've looked everywhere & finally just ordered them on Amazon (probably should have done that first).

My beby will only nap while being held. This will change eventually, right? He wakes up within ten minutes if I put him down, even in his swing. Ughhhhh. I know I have to start working on that, but I love nap snuggles.
Morning nap is fairly easy to get him down in his crib but it's usually only 30 minutes 45 TOPS. Only way for us to get long naps is car rides. But then nothing else gets done. Sometimes he might enjoy being in his swing.
I hope once the novelty of rolling all over the world wears off he will sleep better. Or once he has full control of his body and can get himself out of being stuck in corners.
I'll work on that special timer lol probably have to figure out a way to get into their brains and program them. So basically impossible.
But wouldn't it be great "okay kid, time for a 3 hour nap"
What happy family visiting was had this weekend! I will never get tired of hearing what a beautiful baby I have, or how sweet and good-natured she is! And, I felt like it couldn't have been better timing to have DH captive in the car for some much-needed reconnecting time. He is officially off my shit list. For now.
I hope for those of you with upcoming "weekends," enjoy! For those of you back to work soon, enjoy the evening!

Oh, I should clarify... maybe... that Munchkin naps in his bed 99% of the time. I started having him do that when he was like a week old because I didn't want him to only nap on me. The sad part is that he doesn't nap on me well now so cuddles are limited. He's fallen asleep in his swing like 5 times ever. Today being one of them. I'm not complaining since I got the bathroom cleaned!
ninergirl52 I've found lansinoh bottles at babies r us.
naps: I'm also dealing with a kid who only wants to nap when being held. She'll last 30 minutes in the crib sometimes, but usually she wakes up within 5 minutes. I don't admit this to people IRL... Everyone seems to think that all babies only nap in cribs and that they all STTN and I don't feel like being judged.
We just got back from our super long road trip this evening! It went pretty well. It's usually an 8 hour drive and it took us 11 hours. LO did great on the way there, but slept like crap the first night. She slept wonderfully (up 2 times, which is great these days) the second night. She cried a little on the way home today, and I think it was just because she was tired of being in the carseat.
We hardly ever do anything with DH's parents because he doesn't want to. But we did see them once this weekend for like an hour and a half. MIL gave some great unsolicited advice... "Oh, she doesn't STTN? Wow. You should put some rice cereal in a bottle before bed to make her sleep longer." I seriously had to try not to laugh because we make fun of that exact advice on here all the time. Lol.

nerdalert, people and their advice! I had someone (who has kids older than I am) at church on Sunday tell me she was feeding her two week (yes, week) old fruits, veggies, and cereal because he was "sooo hungry." I wanted to say "isn't that what you eat when you go on a diet?" but I didn't. She had just been side-eyeing milk donation (she doesn't know I donate) and BLW, so I decided it wasn't worth it.
