Tried super milked down oatmeal cereal today. Went ok!! Seemed to enjoy it, will try every day.
Can't tag, but I would have been devastated if I hit a cat! If I see one on the side if the road, I tear up! It happens though, my H and I hit a baby deer last summer. It darted out so fast, I didn't even know why we slammed on the brakes. It was so sad, but the neighbors came to claim it for meat (we were in rural Maine).
Wishing peaceful babies and hours and hours of sleep for you all tonight!
zengal they were supposed to do the roof 1st week of December. Then again it was last Monday. And then now today- but this time we received a text from the landlord saying they were definitely gonna be at my house "in ten minutes" so. Ridiculous.
It's 8:40 and I am in bed. We did Liam's bedtime routine earlier than expected. I hope he still has a good 3-4 hours in him. Doubt it. But he did it last night.
jjh1119 that is ridiculous! I think every home in town has a roofing sign in their yard after the storm. I'm afraid it's going to take a long time to get to ours.
This is such a newb question...but when do you stop burping? LO is starting to burp on her own a little bit, and hates it when we try to burp her now!
millm0m, I've been wondering the same thing! It doesn't seem like she really needs to be burped anymore... Sometimes she just does it on her own when sitting up, but I've stopped trying to burp her right after eating because she just doesn't burp then anymore.

This. Day. -- I think I can sum it up by telling you that I'm comfort-eating a salted caramel trifle blizzard. -- And I didn't even hit a cat, sleep in a closet, move to a new home, or wait for roofers.
Burping - I've been wondering if I can stop for months. I think this is right around the time when babies do it on their own. I still do it, but I don't worry if M doesn't burp.
Random - it's everything I can do not to tell my husband that he wrote "your" instead of "you're" on a Facebook post. That's really bothering me tonight, but I won't say anything.

millm0m, that sounds scary! I lived in Texas for two years and a few weeks ago a really bad tornado went through the town where I used to live. Friends from there were posting pictures and street names and I was just sitting there wondering if my rickety apartment was still standing.
I had my first full on judge-another-mom-to-her-face moment this evening. H, M and I were at a nice fundraising banquet for a church type thing. M was being absolutely golden but got hungry so I went in search of a quiet room. I found a nursery in the back that had a screen and sound and everything, awesome! There was this huge sign on the door saying not to leave children unattended in the room. Duh, right? Well, I hear a baby crying hard and I opened the door to find a screaming baby who was probably 9-10 months old, a phone playing some kind of music, a baby monitor, and NO PARENT. I had no idea who this baby belonged to, but I kinda freaked out. Of course, this is right during the director's speech, but I almost went up on stage and interrupted her. The kitchen people came and were trying to calm the baby down, and M starts crying too, you can hear the baby in the banquet room when the door is opened. I finally decided not to interrupt the speech but I went and got my pastor to ask what to do. I figured he could interrupt with more decorum than me. Baby is still screaming and finally a gal stands up from the tables with a monitor in her hand.
I rushed over to the mom and assumed she didn't know that her baby had been crying and so I'm trying to tell her what's going on. Turns out she saw the sign not to leave children unattended, but did so anyway. She wanted her baby to sleep, so left her alone and said "well, sometimes she just cries for a while before she sleeps." She was holding the parent end of the monitor in her hand, I know she had to have heard her baby crying like the rest of us did, and she was doing NOTHING. Holy crap I gave her some serious stink eye. I could not believe that.
Also, where was I supposed to nurse? I can't take my baby in to a room where another baby is just lying there crying.
So, unofficial poll.... would you leave your baby in the back nursery at a church that is full of people you've never met (there were like 15 churches represented there), and let her cry and cry because you wanted her to sleep in a strange room? Yes or no?
wildflower810 no way!! At the very LEAST I would check on LO if she was crying that hard...especially in a strange place!! Ugh
catlady22 I would've cried, too poor kitty! Fx it found help!
Norah has been sleeping 8:50/9:00pm until 3:45 the last couple nights, so just 1 wake up! It's great, except she eats for up to 40 min, and I need to get up for work around 5. Still trying to figure the scheduling out, but hey - I'll take it! She also slept for 2 hours at 2 out of 3 naps yesterday (normally a 40min tops napper) - something she usually only does at daycare. Hopefully this sticks...she's spoiling me lol! So proud of her must be the solids!

I'm glad to know that my N14 friends are more sane than this random gal I met last night. I felt kinda sorry for her because she had this little one (maybe little one was more like a year?) and a huge belly at the same time. So she's got to be stressed. BUT YOU DON'T LEAVE YOUR BABY SCREAMING IN A RANDOM ROOM!!
scarlet3egonias Yes, I'm about an hour southwest of FW, where the outbreak occurred. It was a nutso day for sure.
Glad I'm not the only one wondering about burping, I think I will relax if she doesn't burp right away, she doesn't seem to be bothered anymore if she doesn't.
wildflower810 That's ridiculous of that mother. I would never do that, and it is irresponsible. Plus that's basically pawning your child off on someone else, she couldn't possibly think it would go unnoticed could she?
millm0m that is a good question about the burping. I guess I'm still like "good job!" when she does it, but I don't worry if she doesn't. I hope today is calm skies for you too!
jjh1119 glad you won't have to wonder about those roofers anymore!
