What type of yard/landscaping do you have? Wish you had?
We live in a desert climate and DH wants to do something to the front yard. All we have is dirt and a huge pine tree. Our backyard is all dirt except for another tree.
Ideally I'd like grass but that's not an option. I'd go with rocks and some plants like those mini palm trees for the front yard.
We live in the Midwest and an acre of land. It's all grass, with some fruit trees, strawberries, rhubarb, raspberries planted. Also a couple of other trees as well as a lilac bush and a flowering almond bush. Not a whole lot of real landscaping.
I'd like to have nice, well kept flower beds, but I just don't have the patience. One of these days I want to at least redo all of the current flower beds(which are a mess) and just plant easy bulbs like tulips and lilies with some hostas and tons of mulch and call it good. I don't want to spend the money right now though.
Our yard isn't exactly landscaped. When we moved in it looked so nice with well kept flower beds, rose bushes, and some other really nice things but I quickly killed everything off. lol. I've got NO green thumb whatsoever. DH prefers a simple, clean look anyway so we've just basically got grass, a couple trees, and a few plants in the front of the house.
legitsince86 my parents have a rock yard and it always looks nice. It's quite a few years old now so the plastic underneath has started to tear and they get occassional weeds but overall it's been extremely low maintenance and really looks good. They love working in the yard. They also have a lot of cactus and palm trees...neat looking plants (though maybe not the best for a LO).
We spent big $$$ redoing our yard. We have no updated kitchen or bathrooms, but we have a privacy fence and lots of beautiful trees and a safer deck. I love our yard!
We are in the midwest too. We have about an acre of crazy. I say that because our house was a foreclosure that we have totally remodeled and so this is the first year we are looking to work on the landscaping. We have a LOT of trees which are in need of help. We have a lot of grass but we also have blackberry bushes and lots of great plants that are just not taken care of. Lilac bushes, flowers, peony's, maples. We hired a company to work on getting our lawn back which so far has proved to be totally worth it. We will be cutting down several trees this year.
I also had DH build me raised vegetable gardens last year. We grow tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, basil, mint, green beans, lettuce, chive.....This year we will do A LOT more tomatoes and basil since we use the hell out of it.

We have about .25 acre in upstate NY. The yard is fully fenced and has a shed and 32' inground pool in the back with a second security fence around that.
DH and my brother ripped out lots of dead bushes and plants last year, leaving big dirt piles and a blank canvas. We have a front brick patio which is in need of replacement and a back deck and paver patio which also need to be updated. Our goal for this summer is to rip out both patios and replace the front with an updated one and plant grass in the back. We will also plant new bushes in the front mulched area and hopefully install window boxes for flowers.

We have a tiny backyard, grass and a few trees along the back fence. It's low maintenance which is perfect because DH and I are pretty lazy when it comes to yard work. It's a good amount of space for DD to play right now.
I'd love to have a nice big deck and fire pit area, but we just don't have the space. In my dream world I'd live somewhere warm enough to have an outdoor pool... but alas, our yard is covered in snow 6 months of the year.
We have a grassy (or snow covered) 1/4 acre lot in NY. In the front we have a couple of red bushes, pink rose bush (that the bunnies love to eat), a hosta, weeping cherry tree, and a raised bed that we plant flowers in every spring. The back yard has a large storage shed, 2 concrete patios (one with a metal pergola, grill, and our table and chairs with bridal veil bushes surrounding it and the other one has always had our fire pit on it but this year I think I want to turn it into a place for LO's baby pool and sand box so we don't have to worry about killing the grass/mowing around that stuff), a few berry bushes, apple trees, maple trees and a fenced in yard. After typing all that it sounds like a lot of work/upkeep but really we don't have to do too much to keep it looking "good". We're thinking of increasing our curb appeal since we would like to put our house on the market soon but I really struggle with landscaping ideas.
We have a typical Florida yard/landscape. Our lot isn't very big which is normally in most suburb subdivisions here. Small yard up front and in back. We are lucky and instead if butting up to other houses we have a small pond out back. My husband hopes to redo the back area soon. We have a small in closed patio and for whatever reason the previous owners used inside house tile so it's so slippery when wet. We would like to take down the enclosure and enlarge the patio space and use travertine instead. I could tell you half of the plant and bushes we have. We do have 3 gardenia bushes and while they are pretty and smell nice, the attracted bees so I could really do without them.

Midwest here. We have a big grass lawn with some trees (mix of deciduous and evergreen) and some flower beds near the house. We are actually in the process of redoing the beds and plan to put in some small evergreens and low-maintenance deciduous shrubs next month. We are also considering hostas.
I have family in CO, and they have a lot of rock in their landscaping, but they don't have kids.
