I just read the new Jodi Picoult book which was pretty good!
LO loves Bear Snores On right now. she kicks and hits the book. She also likes Sheep on a Jeep.
I wish I had read more while on leave. Now I am in the throws of grading and reading for teaching and there is no free reading in sight. Although 1984 is my next book to reread and I do love that book.

The only books I read on maternity leave were "how to get your kid to sleep" books that didn't help at all.
Right now, I'm reading Scarlet by Marissa Meyer. It's the second in a series of young adult novels that are sci-fi retellings of classic fairytales. The first one, Cinder, is obviously a retelling of Cinderella. Scarlet is Red Riding Hood and the third one, Cress, is a retelling of Rapunzel. All the stories intertwine also. I really liked Cinder so I was excited to read Scarlet but the teen romance aspect is annoying me. Scarlet's love interest reminds me of Edward Cullen in a freaky, emo, "don't talk to me, I'm dangerous" kind of way. I'm powering through so I can review it on the blog.
I've been reading all the Winnie the Pooh stories to DS at night since he was 8 weeks old. It's one of my favorite things to do.

I just read Bingo's Run for my book club. It was pretty good.
I don't read to DD, but I love reading the Llama Llama books to DS. His favorite books are the Pete the Cat books. We always argue about which one we should read first.

I really enjoy that series. I'm excited for the next book to come out.
I just read 'Gone Girl' I thought the ending totally sucked. I am about to start The Hunger Games, I am in the 'books are better than the film' club. So I read it after watching to compare.
Recently read the Maze Runner series and the Miss Peregrine series. Just finished Divergent and about to start the next one. Shane loves this Olaf the Snowman book I read to him.

I just started The Book Thief, but I'm only a few chapters in so I can't give a review. I don't read to Lennon yet, but she's there when I read to the other kids. We read a chapter from Harry Potter every night, we're currently on book 5. The older two are OBSESSED with Harry Potter, which I love. Sawyer doesn't care that much, but she loves any book with pictures of real animals. Zooborns is her absolute favorite.

We plan to start reading her all of the Harry Potters when she gets older. How old are your older two? I'm wondering exactly how old she'd need to be to appreciate them.

When we started reading them, DD1 was 7 and DS was 5. Now they're 9 and 7. It takes a long time to get through those books when you only do one chapter a night. We've also had to take breaks if things got too scary. But that hasn't happened very often.

I'm reading "Life on the Mississippi" right now. I don't read anything specific to B yet, but he's there while we read to N - mostly the Spiderman collection he got for Christmas or the pigeon books
I started reading Gone Girl and I'm finding it hard to get into it. So I stopped. I picked up Bossypants and might read that my last week of maternity leave while DD is in daycare.
I don't think DD has a favorite book, but I got the most smiles out of her when I read "Monster at the end of this Book."
