I think the boys are getting to the age that they need something to look at while rising in the car and not sleeping. I want something that secures to the actual seat of the vehicle. Any suggestions?
We use random toys, the tiny books, and food. We have to travel in august for 8 hours and worse case I'll have a DVD player but that might be a last minute resory.

They are still a little young for doing anything besides looking at toys.... they do swat at things occasionally. We do have a million or so of those toys that attach to the seat but their interest level in them is low so far. I'll check out the baby Einstein mirror. Thanks!

The boys aren't far behind Ellison and the last couple weeks she has started to like the crinkle books. She can get them into her own mouth to chew on. She also likes to watch herself in her mirror.
I third the lights and sound mirror. I had a different mirror with lights in my car but my mom bought the einstein one and it was much better so I got one too. He liked it until we flipped him at 2 1/2. The benefit is that is lasts an hour if you want it to. Mine was only 8 minutes or so and I had to keep leaning back to turn it back on.

I also used a dvd players with both girls when they were little for long trips. I just put on baby einstein movies. I don't think a little screen time of that type will hurt anything (both my girls are fine).
