DH and sleep training, advice needed!

OK, with DS, DH was on board with sleep training and it worked wonders with minimal crying. Now we have DD and we are just starting sleep training with minimizing rocking and allowing her to fuss from 5-10 minutes. He has seen when I'm with her and allow her to fuss for 10 minutes she always falls asleep.

The only problem is he will say he is on board with sleep training and then when DD is actually fussing DH will cave before 5 minutes are up and will go and rock her. Also, he will let her sleep on him in the middle of the night even after he agrees he will stop.

When I ask him about it gently he apologizes and says he is totally on board. I tell him we can delay or rethink sleep training if that's what he wants but I really don't want to give mixed signals to DD, I just want to be on the same page. He replies that he is just tired and will do better in the future.

I don't know why he could do it with DS and not DD, maybe she already has DH wrapped around her finger, haha.

Sorry for the long post but if anyone has any advice please help!

Ugh all of this. I think it's the whole daddy daughter thing. We only have DD but he can't let her cry for more then a minute.

If he's really on the same page, can you suggest he jump in the shower or put headphones on for the 5-10 minutes? He can watch the clock but doesn't have to hear the crying/fussing. If he wants to rock her to sleep every night and you're okay with it, then that's one thing, but if he also wants her to be able to put herself to sleep then he needs to just go with it and not sabotage your progress.
