Ok so my MIL keeps my LO from time to time while I am at work well today DH told me when he went to pick up the baby he saw her put the baby's breast milk bottle in the microwave yikes let's say I was so upset. DH said he told her not to do that again and she said she wouldn't. So my question is should I say something to her as well? I'm still freaking out right now. I have a phobia of heating plastic in the microwave am I overreacting?
I would feel that MH spoke to his mom and educatee her. I might not say anything else until I saw her do it again. I'm more worried about breast milk damage from the microwave than the bottle being damaged by the microwave.
Yeah, I'm not sure the plastic being heated is a huge issue... from what I understand you can even sanitize them in a microwave steam bag? I think the ones I have can be.
So I would be more worried about the damage to the milk/hot spots in the milk. You probably don't need to tell her not to again, but you could print out some milk storage/handling advice for her from kellymom.com so she knows how to properly heat the milk.
