Hi everyone! Rather then split June up into 4 weeks I thought this week we can check in with anyone that is due towards the first 1/3 of the month. Late May-June 13th.
Your EDD:
Do you feel you have a lot left to do before baby comes?
If you are a working mom when do you plan to stop working in relation to your due date? How long will you be taking off work?
If you are a stay at home mom any thoughts or comments or concerns?
What is your favorite gift you have received so far from anyone for baby? Feel free to include a gift you bought baby yourself.
Do you feel you have a lot left to do before baby comes? Yes. I feel like we have to do all the things. I had our largest work event of the year last week, so a lot of things were on hold until then. This weekend, though, I got most of the NB-3m clothes washed and sorted, so I feel better there.
I'm still super-irritated that DH and I are at an impasse on baby boy's name.
We also need to: finish our L&D bag, hear back from insurance on the waiver request, move DD's car seats and install baby boy's bases, move around/set up baby stations around the house, repack/reorganize the diaper bags.
And, I'd like to get some meals in the freezer and make lactation cookie dough, but right now, that's pretty low on the priority list.
If you are a working mom when do you plan to stop working in relation to your due date? How long will you be taking off work? I'm working until he arrives. I only get the 12w allotted by FMLA and I know from experience that I want all that time with him.
If you are a stay at home mom any thoughts or comments or concerns? n/a
What is your favorite gift you have received so far from anyone for baby? Feel free to include a gift you bought baby yourself. My favorite "gift" is the outfit that DD picked out for her baby bwother It's in the L&D bag for his coming home outfit. She's so proud of it and so excited to meet him that it gives me all the feels.
Randoms for the week: Still trying to make peace with not having a 40-week pregnancy again. I know that it's possible, it just seems/feels unlikely that I'll make it to EDD. As challenging as being pregnant is, I love that these are the days when my babies are all my own and it makes me sad to not get every possible moment of that. I was 100% not ready when DD arrived at 38w3d, and I will feel the same if he arrives any time short of 40w.
Left to do: I'm feeling pretty good about being set up and ready for baby. the only thing we have left to do is figure out the stroller situation. I just need to test out if our bob adapter works with our infant peg perego car seat. I packed our hospital bags already, oh and DH and I can't agree on a baby name. We have all these running lists and no decision yet !
Stopping working: have not finalized yet. I think when I am 37 weeks so that would be May 15th as my last day. I'm so looking forward to having the time off. I met w our HR department this week and she said I have the option of returning sept 7th or I can extend to November 7th but the last month would be unpaid. I'm leaning towards returning November 7th. I just figure how often in life to get an opportunity like this.
Baby gift-all the baby girls clothes have been making my heart melt! Especially the teeny tights and cotton printed bloomers.
Randoms : DS who is 2 woke us up at 430am this morning and. 530am yesterday so we are both so exhausted. He also in general had not been sleeping great. I'm getting to that point where I'm turning into the weirdo athlete that has to touch his nose before he bats. Last night I took his favorite bear out of his bed thinking well he slept well on Saturday and the bear was on the floor so maybe that is the problem. Seriously losing my marbles.

Randoms for the week:
Happy Cinco De Mayo everyone!!
EDD: June 1st I have a lot left that I'd like to get done, both baby-related and not. Top of the list though is rearranging our room for the cosleeper, and getting newborn diapers and wipes. Work at home? Not sure where I fit on this one. I run a produce/market garden from my parents' ranch, and we're raising turkeys for people as well, so I'll be working til I go into labor. I don't have any scheduled "time off." This is a very busy season for us. Luckily, DH helps when his work day is over, and my parents help out too. Fave gift: Hmmm, probably the carseat and 3 bases that a friend gave us. Used, but good. And free. And the used stroller (Baby Jogger Summit XC), gift to myself!
*snip* Randoms : DS who is 2 woke us up at 430am this morning and. 530am yesterday so we are both so exhausted. He also in general had not been sleeping great. We had a very crappy night's sleep last night too, so this made me lol. DD's never been a great sleeper, so yeah. Looking forward to the infant + toddler sleep situation, too We'll make it through!
wegrowsheep We love our Baby Jogger Summit XC! Love it. We'll replace it with a double of the same when baby boy is big enough for jogging on the trails.
Do you feel you have a lot left to do before baby comes? No just get kids where they need to go and have baby!
If you are a working mom when do you plan to stop working in relation to your due date? How long will you be taking off work? N/A
If you are a stay at home mom any thoughts or comments or concerns? Just ready to hold my little baby boy!
What is your favorite gift you have received so far from anyone for baby? Feel free to include a gift you bought baby yourself. Rock n Play! With my 10-month old we kept taking the pack n play back and forth through rooms and this should help tremendously!
Your EDD: June 4th with baby girl. But OB says it's unlikely that I'll make it that long. She said be ready anytime between May 22nd and June 4th.
Do you feel you have a lot left to do before baby comes? Yes and no at the same time. All her clothes are washed and sorted. I just need to put them away. We have the car seat, we just need to install it. I have a list for what needs to go in our hospital bag, I just need to pack it. I have a grocery list for freezer meals, I just need to assemble them.
If you are a working mom when do you plan to stop working in relation to your due date? Starting next week, I'll be taking every Wednesday off. Then, unless she comes before then, I will start ML on May 26th. How long will you be taking off work? I plan on returning 1st or 2nd week of September.
What is your favorite gift you have received so far from anyone for baby? Feel free to include a gift you bought baby yourself.
My sister in law hand made a lot of hat/bootie/diaper cover sets. They are adorable and the thought and time that went into making them is amazing.
Randoms for the week: Yesterday was mine and DH 1st wedding anniversary. I've been very sentimental looking back on what an amazing day that was and what an amazing honeymoon we took. He such an awesome man and husband and I can't wait for him to become a daddy.

Your EDD: 7 June
Do you feel you have a lot left to do before baby comes? Lately, yes. Feel like I'm so unprepared for a newborn again and forgetting what essentials I actually need.
If you are a working mom when do you plan to stop working in relation to your due date? How long will you be taking off work? N/A
If you are a stay at home mom any thoughts or comments or concerns? Nervous about 2U2 and how I will function to care for toddler while being potentially sleep deprived by newborn and how to balance my time with the 2 of them.
What is your favorite gift you have received so far from anyone for baby? Feel free to include a gift you bought baby yourself. We haven't really gotten gifts (2u2 so not a lot of need), but we have been gifted and I've bought some really adorable clothes.
Randoms for the week: I'm actually having (another) baby, and soon.

Your EDD: 06/02
Do you feel you have a lot left to do before baby comes? I feel like I do, but in reality I don't. I need a quilt for the guest bed, wash and hang the clothes, and steam the glider. That's pretty much it. I've started on freezer meals and will continue until the baby comes.
If you are a working mom when do you plan to stop working in relation to your due date? How long will you be taking off work? Working until I go into labor. I don't really see the point in taking time off before, when I can be getting things done. I'd end up just sitting around hoping to go into labor, wondering if I was going into labor, over-analyzing every twinge. I'd much rather be off after, spending as much time with the baby as possible. And the more I do now, the less I have to do when I get back! I'm taking off until August, just not sure whether I'll go back mid-August or late August.
What is your favorite gift you have received so far from anyone for baby? Feel free to include a gift you bought baby yourself. My cousin knit a sweater, socks, and booties for the baby. I was very touched because she did the same for my son, and I was just planning on reusing them, so it's nice this baby will have something new.
Randoms for the week: Everyone keeps telling me I'll go early. I want to go early (days - not weeks). My doctor says it wouldn't be the worst thing if I went early. But honestly, I'm fairly certain I'm going to be either on time or late.

Your EDD: June 10th with a girl
Do you feel you have a lot left to do before baby comes? I feel like I have SO MUCH left to do. I know in reality my need for everything to be done and perfect will not end up happening but right now I'm pushing to get it all done. We need to install the car seat bases and finish up the nursery. I still need to pack my bag and shop for after care items. I'd also like to get all the warranty registering of items done and freezer meals together.
If you are a working mom when do you plan to stop working in relation to your due date? I plan to stop working when I go in to labor. I only get 6 weeks off and the first 2 are unpaid through STD so I need my full 2 weeks of vacation this year to cover those weeks.
What is your favorite gift you have received so far from anyone for baby? Feel free to include a gift you bought baby yourself. My favorite gift so far is probably this little onesie that my BFF had made on Etsy. It says "I'm silently judging you" it makes me LOL every time.
Randoms for the week: my DH turned 40 yesterday. Holy crap we are like adults now.
Do you feel you have a lot left to do before baby comes?
Yes! I try to wash a little of her stuff every day. Since our showers have wrapped up, we plan to buy all the things she needs right away with the completion coupon this week, and then hang all the wall decor.
If you are a working mom when do you plan to stop working in relation to your due date? How long will you be taking off work?
I am already off of work. Props to all you working mamas!

Chicco Car Seat Stroller: I'm excited to click her car seat in and hit the street or mall!
Randoms for the week: I want a Patron margarita on the rocks!
Do you feel you have a lot left to do before baby comes? We had our shower on Sunday and there are still quite a few big ticket items that we did not get, a pack n play, a second base for DH car, the Monitor system we registered for, a High Chair. Plus some little things. The nursery will be finished by this weekend. DH just needs to finish painting and hang the book shelves and then we are done. Well minus the mattress for the crib but that is ordered and on its way.
If you are a working mom when do you plan to stop working in relation to your due date? How long will you be taking off work? So I plan on working up until I go into Labor...if it happens at work it happens at work! I dont qualify for FMLA so Im only taking 8 weeks off. 6 weeks for Short Term Disability and 2 weeks of PTO that I have saved up.
If you are a stay at home mom any thoughts or comments or concerns? N/A

DH Surprised me this weekend with Maternity Photo's not really for the baby but more for me. WE had been looking into them and then he lost his job so I knew we wouldn't be able to afford them. At my shower on Sunday he surprised me with maternity photo's session for 2 weeks from Sunday. So very excited!
Randoms for the week:
Dh just told me he doesnt see the need for a bassinet for our bedroom, and say that the he will just fold the pack n play up every night and carry it up the 2 flights of steps for when its time to go to bed. A its not going to fit in the bed room, and B i give him a week MAYBE 2 before the exhaustion hits him and he goes out and buys the basinett.

Do you feel you have a lot left to do before baby comes? Little things here and there, but also things where if they don't happen until after baby it's ok too.
If you are a working mom when do you plan to stop working in relation to your due date? How long will you be taking off work? N/A
If you are a stay at home mom any thoughts or comments or concerns? Third tri with a toddler is really hard. Kudos to all moms. I'm trying so hard keeping up and it gets harder every day. Sometimes DS is ok with it, sometimes I can tell he's bored and that makes him grumpy. I'm very excited to add to the family and let my body start to become its own again, but I also have a hard time imagining life with two, though I know it will just happen! Basically, lots of feels all over the map right now.
What is your favorite gift you have received so far from anyone for baby? Feel free to include a gift you bought baby yourself. It's more common to receive gifts after baby is born here. I am super excited about the carriers I want to try this time that I bought, and since we have a ton of boy stuff I bought a little dress just in case (team green), and I adore it. If I can't use it I hope I can gift it to someone!
Randoms for the week: This round of NHL playoffs so far is very much not going my way!
Do you feel you have a lot left to do before baby comes? Not really. It's unbelievable how different it is the second time around. If baby comes tomorrow I feel totally ready...except mentally. I'll never be ready mentally.
If you are a working mom when do you plan to stop working in relation to your due date? Work until I go into labor. How long will you be taking off work? 2 full weeks and then it's back to the grind. I'll be bringing baby to the office with me and just getting done whatever I can.
What is your favorite gift you have received so far from anyone for baby? No gifts yet this time around, not even one. The only new thing I've purchased is a set of onesies and a dress from baby gap (in case it's a girl), and a Motorola video monitor. I want to get some new Adan and Anais swaddlers and a new boppy cover, but I want to wait to see the sex of the baby first. Every baby thing I've ever bought from the very beginning has been neutral and I'm looking forward to being able to buy sex-specific things for this next (and last) baby.
Randoms for the week: I saw a spider crawling on DS's ceiling before I put him to bed last night. I decided to ignore it and just put him to bed without doing anything about. I feel a little guilty about it because if it had been my room, I probably would have gotten rid of it before I laid down. I just knew it was going to be a process with him wanting to help and see the spider and bla bla and I was just ready for him to go to bed.

Right there with ya, my friend. I was showing DS how to play 'ring around the rosie' and I only did the fall down part once before I was done. He wanted me to keep going and I was like, "sorry bro". Ready to get some energy back, but I know it's still gonna be awhile.

To that one alone, lolz.
Im not even saying anything. Im going to let him do it and then after about 3 days when hes exhausted look at him and say told you so. Just not worth the fight that I know will come from it.
Was very confused about the title since the caboose is the last car in a train...
Front of the train, Head end, engine, pilot would have maybe been less confusing to me.
ETA: thank you for heading this up.
Also how 1/3 of 30 is 13?
I don't go here, I'm middle of the month but I just have to say it makes a lot more sense to break up the front of the bus into June 1-10, middle mamas to 11-21, and caboose from 22-30th. But that is my humble opinion. And are we still expected to do ticker change check ins if we do due date groups?
Do you feel you have a lot left to do before baby comes? Yes, we just moved 10 days ago and I have NOTHING set up for him... I'm overwhelmed!
My only concern as a sahm is that my other two kiddos adjust well.. And that they still nap daily and the new baby naps at the same time so I can nap too!
I haven't gotten any gifts, but I did get a petunia pickle bottom diaper backpack for myself, for the baby... And that's my favorite purchase so far!

A Rock N Play might be a nice alternative/way to meet in the middle. Not nearly as expensive as most bassinets, easily portable through the house, and multifunctional.
Thats the thing... The bassinet that I want...is $50 and the wheels flip up so that it can be rocked...were not talking a lot of money... But thats fine, he can re-arrange the whole house and the first time he yells about having to carry the fucking thing up stairs i am just going to say told you so!

I agree with this except i believe the last group is 21-30 to be exactly even, which is what i used during the caboose checkin last week.
I could go either way with ticker checkins- i dont really care if they stay or go. I think we have more in common with people in the part of the month checkins.
Due date: June 3rd but scheduled for repeat c/s on May 28th... That's only 23 days! Holy shit.
I e got enough to do before baby comes but I'm so bloody tired lately. I'd like to do a deep cleaning before LO arrives; I just don't see it happening. Lol.
As a SAHM, DD is being fantastic. She knows when mommy is very (extremely) tired and gives her a break. I'm not sure how those of you who work and come home to LOs do it...I'd be sleeping at my desk if I was teaching right now.
No gifts as of yet as this is baby no 2 and there will be no shower. (At least that I'm aware of). I haven't really bought anything but I did make the mobile for the crib. I like it.

Your EDD: 1 June
Do you feel you have a lot left to do before baby comes? Yes. So much. I'm writing it all down and it's pages of things and I keep remembering more. I've decided that when I want to nap after breakfast I'm just going to do it. I've been fighting it and then I still don't get anything done and I just feel guilty and sleepy and uncomfortable. If I nap, maybe I will wake up productive! Even if I don't it's no loss.
If you are a working mom when do you plan to stop working in relation to your due date? How long will you be taking off work? I ended up on leave months early than I expected. I can't have a sub at my job, so when I had MS and couldn't commit to being there every week, I was on temporary leave until I felt better which turned into leave for the whole year because my &*$# of a boss heard "pregnant" and "leave" and ignored when I specifically said I wanted to come back and decided he had to replace me. So I haven't been able to work since November and that has had serious unfortunate consequences for our finances. School starts again in August, so I might be back then but a) not sure I'll still have a job--their numbers dropped so far that they might not hire me back b) the pay scale might change--they said it might last year and it didn't but I can't count on anything c) I'm not sure I want to go back after being ignored like that, on top of everything else I've been through at that job. It's unfortunate, because it was going to be perfect. I only worked three hours one night a week and it pays really well, so I was able to supplement our income nicely without having to be away from baby for long. There's a job I heard about that would be planning events and field trips, which sounds kind of ideal, except that it's full time and I wasn't planning on being away from baby that long. The good thing is that it pays well enough that I could put DH through school. If I weren't about to have a baby, there would be no downside. I'm trying to decide whether I should still go for it. Otherwise, my other plan was to get certified as a substitute teacher so that I have a flexible schedule. That's probably what I'll end up doing, but it would be nice to have that steady income from the one-night-a-week job.
If you are a stay at home mom any thoughts or comments or concerns? I was not going to have to choose--I was going to be able to be a working mom and a stay-at-home mom. And now I might not have that.
What is your favorite gift you have received so far from anyone for baby? Feel free to include a gift you bought baby yourself. So hard to choose a favourite, but the one that made me cry was when my mum gave me the rattles I played with as a baby.
Randoms for the week: I went to a pizza buffet yesterday and overdid it. Not comfortable!
Do you feel you have a lot left to do before baby comes? Yes and no. I have a few things on my to do list but if they don't get done, it's not a big deal.
If you are a working mom when do you plan to stop working in relation to your due date? How long will you be taking off work? I will be working up until I go into labor. I work from home which makes that easier on me. I will be taking off two months.
What is your favorite gift you have received so far from anyone for baby? The letters that we hung on the wall. I couldn't find any I liked and my mom magically found the perfect set.
Randoms for the week: My 7 year old second cousin saw my maternity pictures and exclaimed "wow that looks painful".
Do you feel you have a lot left to do before baby comes? Nope, other than tidy house a bit and get some last minute hospital essentials.
If you are a stay at home mom any thoughts or comments or concerns? No concerns really to be honest, I'm hoping breastfeeding isn't too bad.
What is your favorite gift you have received so far from anyone for baby? Feel free to include a gift you bought baby yourself. Ooh I don't know.. Probably our pram which was bought by SO's parents + the silver cross mobile bought by my uncle.
Randoms for the week: I kept farting in anatal class this morning.. I don't think anyone heard or smelled.. or at least I hope they didn't. It was one of those ones that I didn't know it was going to happen and I jumped slightly with surprise when it did.
