I've been putting this off, but we really need to upgrade our car seat. LO is currently in a graco infant car seat, I don't remember which one but it goes with the stroller. The weight limit is 22 pounds and I'm pretty sure she's 20 pounds right now so there isn't any time to procrastinate. I'm pretty sure we sure want a convertible style. What is everyone else using, or planing to upgrade to?
Interested in seeing what others are buying. Right now we have the chicco keyfit 30, so we're still good for a while. I need to do some research on convertible seats...
We have the chicco keyfit30 as well but lugging over 20 pounds of baby in it is getting ridiculous! We are going to switch him soon the the chicco nextfit zip (you can zip the cover on and off for washing purposes!
We have the britax b-safe right now. I think we are going to get the graco mysize 65. Though the Chicco next fit looks good too. Not sure. Or I might just spend the money and keep going with the britax. If I catch a good sale I'll go with the britax marathon
How horrible am I, I wasn't even thinking about this! My lo is getting long for her car seat with her little feet almost hanging out. I have the graco snug ride click connect and I looked it up and it says it's ok until 35lbs. Maybe i need to adjust the straps or something. I can't imagine toting it around much longer, it's ridiculously heavy.

Add me to the Graco Snug Ride Click Connect team. There were two versions. I have the one good to 30 lbs, but there is another one good until 35 lbs.
I chose the 30 lbs limit seat because I read that LO is likely to grow out of it length wise and not weight wise.
I'm not looking forward to getting a new car seat because MH and I split drop off and pick up. Right now, we have a base in each car and leave the car seat with LO at daycare.
We switched DS into a britax marathon when he was around this age (now close to 3 years old). That seat got great reviews/ratings and DS was able to be rear facing until over 2. I think we'll switch him into something else and hand those down to DD when she's ready. Looking back, I wish we kept DS in the infant carrier longer even though he, just like DD, was super heavy in it. It's just so much more convenient. DD will be in it as long as possible.

Ditto on the Graco snugride 35. We have the click connect travel system which I love...and got a neutral pattern for more babies. We're also looking at the Graco Mysize 65. We pretty much did everything Graco.

We have a Graco that's good up to 35 lbs too. I know he won't be in it until he's 35 lbs, but I'd like to keep him in it as long as possible just because it's convenient. We have the stroller for it, and it works well.
I don't know what we'll do about a convertible seat. I'm happy we are talking about this so I can hear from all of you.
I have the Britax Bsafe right now and it is way too heavy to carry with LO anymore. I just puchased the Britax click tight boulevard. I went with the click tight version because it said it was good for taller kids and LO is on the tall side. Can't wait for it to come!
I haven't been here in a few weeks, but thought I would respond because I was just thinking about this today myself. My two year old has an Evenflo Symphony DLX and we love it! If I can get it at a good price, we will get the same one again. My little guy is only 15 pounds though, so we have a few months. I just want to start watching for it on sale now.
I have the britax roundabout and the diono raidanfor my almost 3 year old. We got the britax for daycare and it's been a good seat. However, my DS is a big kid (90th% or higher for everything) and wasn't able to stay rear facing as long as I wanted in that seat (we had to switch him around 2). We just turned him forward facing in the diono about 2 months ago. It's a little more pricey, but it's slim so you can fit 3 across, rear faces till 40 pounds, 5 point harness till 80 pounds and booster till 120 pounds. It has all steel construction which i wanted. I highly suggest it, after 2+ years of use!
heatherbee, thanks for the rec. That diono radian seat looks awesome, and I don't think I would have come across it. I like that it goes up to 120 lbs! My kid is pretty big so far, and since my H and I are tall, he will probably be tall, too. The amount of time he will be in it sounds like it is definitely worth the price.
@heatherber thanks for the recommendation on the diono radian, we ended up purchasing that one. I think it will be a great fit for us because DD is big too, 96th% for everything, and I like that it's slim. Do you have any experience is the back of a pickup with the "suicide" doors? I drive a F-150 super ab for work and I'm concerned about it fitting, but I think we're safe.

My ds needs a bigger seat, he has an Evenflo. But it's his length, not weight. He's only 14lbs. And he tries to sit forward in it, I make sure the straps are tight! But his big head isn't strapped in so I saw him napping with his head slumped forward.
I have a Graco but I hate it. It's definitely big enough and I bought the stroller to go with it. So I'll probably buy a Graco. I've read so many recalls from them it scares me. Oh yea the current one I have is hand-me-down so I'm paranoid about that.
We also have a Britax for my H's car (I cant remember which model but it is the higher end one) we got it on clearance for $266 which was almost $100 off. I don't like it as much as the chicco but we predominantly use my car anyway so it doesn't get much use.
After setting things in the van and reading consumer reports and other blogs. We are going with the Chicco Nexfit. Not sure which model yet. I love the idea of zip but not sure it's worth $50. Still unsure about DH's car not sure if we are going to do the same or different cheaper option.
ninergirl52 nice! Am I right that it's supposed to be ok up until 35lbs? I like the whole system, really easy to use and the stroller is super nice.
Hey there - sorry I didn't see this before. But yes, you are right, it goes to 35 lbs. We plan on keeping it for as long as possible. We have a base for this carseat in both of our cars, so I'm in no rush to move up to a bigger seat.
