Hello everyone! I just wanted to come over and intro here. My baby girl Savannah was born at 29 weeks and 5 days on April 25th. Here's a little background. My blood pressure was high at my 30 week appointment, which was April 22nd. Both numbers were above 140/90 and there was protein in my urine. They hooked me up to a fetal monitor for 45 minutes to an hour and had me lay on my left side. The baby was fine. They took my pressure again and it was the same. They had me do a 24 hour urine test/blood test, and put me on bed rest until I gave birth. I went back on the 24th and it was still high. I had just dropped off the urine and had blood drawn at the lab. They told me to go to labor and delivery to wait for the results. I went over and immediately about 4 nurses and a doctor were in the room trying to check me in and get an IV in. I was very swollen, and it seemed to have just gotten worse that week. At first they said I would be there till I have birth which could be in a week or no later than 34 weeks. Overnight that changed. My blood pressure was still high and tests said my kidneys were not performing at 100%. None of the blood pressure medication was working. In the morning I was told I had to have a c section asap. There wasn't time to induce because I was developing preeclampsia and I could have a stroke or a seizure if I had to wait. My baby girl was delivered at 9:56 am on April 25th at 29 weeks and 5 days. She was 2 pounds and 7 ounces. She is doing well in the NICU. She is breathing on her own and she is off the IV. I know I have a while before she is out. My birth month board said I should come here. I figured it would be good to talk to others in similar situations.
