We are heading into the time lots of moms are getting their harmony/materniti21 results back so I wanted to see who else is not having the testing done. Not gonna lie it's going to be difficult when all the sex announcements really start rolling in!

I'm not. Mainly, it's not an option for us, at my hospital it's only offered to you if you're over 35, have other medical reasons, or for MOMs over 33. I don't fall into any of those. And I don't feel like trying to navigate to pay OOP.
Also, I've read a lot about how they're less accurate if you don't have risk factors or are under 35, so I'm really fine with it. Looks like we will have the NT scan, that's making me nervous enough.

My midwife group just offered us the first trimester screening which involved the NT scan plus a blood sample where they pricked my finger to check for two different hormone levels, so that is what we went with.
I'm not getting it done unless there is something that comes back on my NT/PAPPA that would suggest more screening is necessary. I am anxious to find out the sex of the baby, but I'm sure I can survive another couple months. The out of pocket cost for me would be in the range of $900. I live in Canada so paying for healthcare type things is not my norm, so that price just seems way to high for something I personally don't actually need. I'm not even sure I am willing to pay $100 to get the fancy 3D Ultrasound down the road.

I'm a minimalist. Even if I was ama I don't think I would do it. My doc offered it but not going to do it. There's nothing I could do to change the outcome and most life threatening conditions will ups show up on the anatomy scan
I am not doing it but only because my office does not offer it to anybody under 35. I would get it done otherwise because I don't like the unknown, not sex unknown, but health stuff.

Likewise, I'm getting the "standard" NT screening but unless that comes up irregular I can wait until 18 weeks to know the gender.
Edit: I lied. I'm getting the "IPS" screening.
According to BabyCenter.ca: "Integrated prenatal screening (IPS) adds a futher set of blood work done between 5-17 weeks.
First trimester screening has a higher false positive rate but you get the results faster. IPS has a lower false positive rate but takes longer to get the result. "
I'm fairly positive my midwife won't offer it and my insurance wouldn't cover it if she did. I tend to be minimalistic anyway. No optional testing for me.
I'm not getting it. My ob didn't offer it and they don't do the NT scan. I would have to drive an hour to get the NT scan done. I think I would stress too much so I'm not getting any of the optional screenings done.
I'm cool with not having it; I'll be a month away from 35 at time of delivery, so I could probably get it covered if I pushed it. I'm not one for micro-managing and stress. I can handle waiting for our anatomy scan. And as far as any abnormalities, a scan wouldn't change our decision whether or not to follow through with our pregnancy. But everyone is different, it's just not necessary for us.

This. We are having the 20 week scan. I worry enough as it is, and need "less is more" to preserve my sanity.
I wanted to do it, but my OB dissuaded me, based on my age and genetic screen. At first, the control freak in me disagreed with her, but let's be honest--so little is in our control I managed to just go with it.

I'm not doing the fancy scans just because they're not offered and I'm cheap and don't want to pay out of pocket for them myself. I can wait until 18-20 weeks for the anatomy scan for the sex. We are doing the genetic testing stuffs though. I did with my last one, so I'll do it for this one too. I want to be mentally, physically, and financially prepared should there by any genetic abnormalities.
