Talk to me about your nursing tanks for summer.

DS was a winter babe so I just wore a super comfy nursing bra and a zip up fleece - I hardly bothered with tanks. Obviously not a tactic that will work this summer. What style/brand nursing tank do you like and where do you get them? If you liked something other than tanks for summer, fill me in on that, too! Thanks!

Can I also solicit nursing bra recommendations here? I noticed people listed nursing bras and tanks on their hospital bag list and I definitely haven't bought any of that yet!

I have bravado nursing bras and used Glamourmom tanks with DS1, bc they make them in long torso. (6' tall, a must)

I just asked for more glamourmom tanks for my birthday (they have more colors now!!) and am excited to use them again.


I'm currently barely fitting into a 36C bra, which is about what I was last time too. (same bras as first pregnancy)

Cheap - I stock up on Target (Gillian O'Malley) nursing tanks pre-pregnancy because they come in S/M/L.

Expensive - I save the expensive ones for after my milk comes in and I know my size and then get Bravado.

I did notice a couple weeks ago Bravado now makes a line specifically for Target, but I can't comment since I haven't checked those out.

I didn't know target has a maternity section! I need to check it out. It seems like no store has maternity clothes anymore.

This should say pre-birth.  I do not stock up on nursing clothes before I'm pregnant because I'm only a little crazy.  Not full-fledged.

What??!!! How have you survived these 8 months without taking advantage of (or knowing about) Target's maternity line?!!! It is the best!!

Thank you for posting this! I had 2 Glamourmom tanks that I used with my son, I liked the top but the torso was too short, glad to know them make a long torso one (perils of the longwaisted - turning all shirts into belly shirts).

I have huge boobs, I'm not even really sure what size they are right now but definitely bigger than a D. I used the Bravado Basics nursing tanks from Target, size XL. I've already been wearing them since my regular tanks started to ride up over my belly. I like them and plan to get more on my next target trip.

As far as bras, I had a really hard time. I ended up getting a couple sports bra style ones from Destination Maternity and those were my favorites. Unfortunately the label has completely worn off so I can't tell you any more details than that. Just that those seemed to work better for me than the underwire kind.

Someone around here just recommended Coobies bras the other day. I have been in so much pain for most of this pregnancy because my already huge boobs got huge-er. I wasn't sure about ordering them because they only come in two sizes and in previous experience, that would never work for me. I'm so excited though because I ordered them for super cheap and they came the other day. I'm finally not in pain! The lacy one doesn't have as much coverage as I typically like, but the traditional style is perfect! Most of their bras have removable straps anyway, so they will work great for nursing too.

Thank you ladies! This is perfect. Love the tall size option too, I'm 5'10" so that is fantastic. Thanks for saving me the research with the brand recommendations! I think I'll do a mix of all three, Target, Bravado and a splurge or two on the tall Glamourmoms. All I have that I'm willing to wear from last time are my Lamaze brand sleep bras, called the "cotton spandex nursing bra." I bought them super cheap from Burlington Baby Depot, they have a small selection of maternity/nursing gear. In case anyone wants another place to check for cheap stuff! Just no guarantee on selection.

Love my bravado nursing bras, not sure if they have different types but I have the soft cup kind and they are so comfortable I have worn them all thru pregnancy. Same for the target nursing tanks. I like to wear them under a baggy t-shirt for extra coverage while nursing if baby doesn't like the nursing cover or it's super hot.

Stretchy camis worked fine for me. Honestly, I never bothered with nursing tanks. I just stuck with a nursing bra.

My favorite hands down are H&M's nursing tanks. Cheaper than target and fit much better IMO. I am on the smaller side though and found targets tanks to be big and loose.
H&M sells them online only but are either $25 or $30 for a 2 pack. They are also longer than the target Gillian OMalley ones I have.

Thrift store and my step mom bought me some from gordmans. I have no idea how I didn't know!! The closest target is like 25 min from me so I rarely go there but I will definitely be going now!!

My friends all suggested Soma nursing bras. They used various brands of tanks though. I'm not long waisted but I hate short tanks. Somehow I always want them longer so I'm glad to see some are available longer! Checking those out'

I've heard good things about Bravado, and they actually come in something remotely close to my size (I was a 30G pre-pregnancy and gave up on anything other than a sports bra after the first tri). I'm planning to measure myself once my milk comes in so I know what size to order, and will probably opt to get them online from either Her Room or Bare Necessities - whoever has a better coupon when I'm ordering lol.

I've heard that Nordstrom also does nursing bras, but they might have to order them for you. I think their in-store inventory is pretty limited.

I saw the nursing tanks at Target and Motherhood and will probably get a couple to see if I like them. They're relatively cheap and easily accessible, so convenience is king on this one.

Has anyone ever ordered a bra from the Dairy Fairy? The name makes me cringe, but her stuff looks pretty interesting/versatile.

DIY nursing tank

I've been wearing nursing bras for a few months (Target--Gilligan and O'Malley seamless bra) that are super comfy and make me never want to wear a real bra again. I also get camisoles from Costco that are ridiculously stretchy and soft. They still fit me and shrink right back down to normal size when I wash them. They're Kirkland brand and are $10 for a 2 pack. So I figure I'll get crafty. Obviously, I won't be wearing them out of the house but I can layer them under nursing dresses that are low cut for accessibility but seriously need something under them.

Not sure what size you need, but I was a 38/40 DD before my milk came in, and I'm larger than that now. I just have some $20 pull over bras from Target. Not sure of the brand, but they are sort of like a sports bra that will pull down for nursing. They don't offer a TON of support, but they are awesome to sleep in and lounge around the house and/or hospital. I've even worn it in public a few times. I got an XL, and my mom found a similar bra at Walmart in a XXL.
