I took DD to the doctor today for an ear recheck. She is 2 & has had on & off ear infections since November. Her ears looked good but the pedi suggested going to see an ear, nose & throat doctor to see if she needs tubes. I don't know what to do. He said kids generally out grow them by 2 but every winter has been like this for her. If your LO has tubes, would you recommend it? How was the surgery?

We were also referred to an ENT this winter, but the ENT didn't end up recommending tubes. DD had 3 or 4 ear infections I think, but he felt she would've had 4-6 in a certain amount of time to be a candidate for tubes if I remover correctly. They did do an audiology exam while we were there to make sure she hadn't suffered any hearing loss from the infections - it was easy, not scary at all, and fortunately turned out normal. I think they are supposed to outgrow them by 2 1/2-3, so hopefully we're at the tail end of it, but you could always do the ENT appointment and just see what they have to say.
