I haven't been around much since the bump went down in flames but I'm seriously distraught and need some good thoughts and prayers.
We found out tonight that our Bosco has cancer. He's only 4. This has literally been my worst nightmare since the day we got him. He has a small (pea sized) mast cell tumor on his side. I'm vigilant about checking him for lumps & bumps and took him in a few days after I found it since it wasn't going away.
The doctor said the prognosis is good, but all I can think is CANCER CANCER CANCER. He's going for surgery on Friday so please throw any spare thoughts & prayers our way. I'm trying to take it one step at a time.
Update: Thank you all so much for your healing thoughts and prayers! The vet just called and it looks like NO spread to the lymph nodes which is great news!!! This means it's either Grade I or Grade II (the vet thinks Grade I judging by the small size, but we won't know until we get the pathology back), both of which are treatable and have great prognosis. We were also worried by a bump on his foot, but the vet thinks its just a bug bite or scrape. He is in surgery now and should be done soon!
Update#2: Surgery is done and he is just hanging out at the vet recovering! The doctor is confident that the entire tumor was removed and plenty of surrounding tissue, so we are just waiting on the pathology report to confirm this. Hopefully we won't have any future issues and today he is CANCER FREE!

T&P headed your way! My Kody is 8 and he has a marble sized lump in his hip area. I wonder about him, but he's getting old, so we haven't brought him in yet. I'm too scared to, I think.
