OT: Can we talk about Iced Coffee?

I am OBSESSED with Starbucks Cold Brew iced coffee these days. It is so freaking good and I am not really a Starbucks kind of gal. But its so expensive. $3.35 for a grande here in Philly suburbs.

I'd like to try and make my own at home. It seems like I can do it overnight in my French Press, pour into my cup over ice, and be on my way quickly in the morning. Has anyone ever tried this method or any other at-home iced coffee or cold brew methods? I saw a recipe by Pioneer Woman I'd like to try but it seems a little messy and time consuming.

What's your favorite Iced Coffee or Frapp?

I'm not a big coffee snob but I like all the flavored stuff. Have you tried the smores frap at Starbucks? Amazing. I also really like the starbucks grasp that come in glass bottles. I'll but those sometimes and keep them in my fridge.

Love iced coffee! I've done it in the French press like you described, overnight. now I want Starbucks. Their black iced coffee is my go to.

I just get the huge caramel iced coffee from McD's for like $2. It's good.

I always get the mocha frapp. And now I just remembered that I have a Starbucks gift card to use.

Oh yes, I've tried it and its amazing but.... 500 STEEP calories. I tried to justify it in my head that because I was BFing, I had to have an extra 500 calories that I could spend on that but trying on pants snapped me back to reality. lol

Geez. I didn't realize it was 500. I knew it wasn't excfly low cal but dang. No wonder I can't lose weight. Lol

I manage the coffee shop at my church. I get to make all the yummy coffee drinks every day. I had a French vanilla iced coffee this morning. Sooo yummy.

This is is THE BEST way to drink iced Starbux at home. The cheapest place I've found to buy them is Target. If not, my Shoprite has them in the isle with the creamers.

I love frapps, granitas basically anything that has that frozen consistency.

I have a mr coffee frappe maker that makes really good ones. I think it was like $60-70. It brews coffee for you in it then you mix whatever Portion of milk, sugar, choc syrup or whatever you want in it.

I love it. But haven't used if in the last two days since we area out of milk. But it allows me to have one and not have to spend te $$ at Starbucks and I can figure out the calories too

DH is an iced coffee snob. He's Greek and claims that iced coffee is Greek ?. He does esspresso-adds sugar-froth it up- adds milk (for me). He has a machine to froth up the espresso shot but you can also use a milk frother if you're patient. then put in some ice cubes and you have a fancy looking iced coffee.

When I make iced coffee I use cubes of frozen coffee so I don't water it down. I've never tried cold brew coffee since I like my iced coffee sweet and milky. Simple syrup would probably work for getting sugar in and dissolved.

This is what I was going to suggest. I personally hate ice coffee (Coffee should be hot! And black!) but I've seen this all over Pinterest lately and it sounded like a good idea.

I LOVE iced coffee... Unfortunately, we think the acidity in coffee disagrees with DD's stomach- boo! Drooling over this thread...

I make cold brew iced coffee at home! Its awesome. We grind fresh beans medium grind then soak 4 oz of coffee in 8 cups of water overnight. Strain the heck out of it into airtight containers and we drink it all week!
