Literally. My kid pooped in his "Newfie pool" this afternoon and he was very frightened of it. DH pulled him out of it and didn't want to talk about how he "pooped in the pool" which, IMO was a big mistake. I kind of regret not making him observe his own poop in the pool after we pulled him out of it.
My LO is afraid of toys that move and make noise. We have a ton of toy farm stuff from when my H was little. LO loves all that stuff. H's sister got LO a John Deere monster tractor for Christmas and it freaks LO out. LO now know not to push the button on top, which causes the monster tractor to rev up and then take off. But LO talks about the "noise" all the time.
My kid is afraid of his own damn shadow. Weird noises, ANYONE with a hat (including DH), other kids, dogs (even though we have one and he talks about them nonstop). Seriously everything.

rosebean, what's a Newfie pool? You have family in the Maritimes, don't you?
Anyways, Nicky is also afraid of toys that make noise. He got a little Thomas train for Christmas that makes noise and he HATED it, but now it's his favourite. He hates all other noise-making toys, though. also, if BIL or SIL are in the laundry room at the bottom of our basement stairs, he freaks out a little at the noise of them moving around. He's starting to react to things on TV too. There was a scene in the Big Bang Theory where someone gets zapped with electricity and he hid under a blanket. Chicken.
I don't think DD is scared of anything yet. She likes it when you jump out and "scare" her, but that's just pretend. For awhile she was terrified of anyone who wasn't immediate family or her godmother, but she's really come out of her shell lately, and it seems the "stranger danger" phase is over, at least for now.
Once when she was younger though, something (I think a loud noise) literally scared the poop out of her. She jumped started wailing, and then we smelled poo. ;-)
Probably not an appropriate fear to talk about but what the hell...Jacob doesn't really show fear around many things other than being naked and its like this wide eyed fear of you aren't going to put a diaper back on. If he is naked and his stuff touches his leg he flips out like he has something crawling on him. He will walk straddle legged until he can find some pants or something. It's so strange and I will admit a little funny. Sam has a favorite movie (yes I know tv before two blah blah blah ) Jumanji and when the lion comes and steps on the piano he hides his face and once he growls he looks up and continues watching.
Other than that they are pretty kosher with loud noises, vacuums, blender etc.
Another loud noises kid over here. He talks about "noises" pretty often, not a fan of the vacuum or blender - although it also makes him super curious about the vacuum and he knows smoothies come from the blender. But he still tries to tell people that they are "all done! All done!" making their loud noises to get them to stop.
He's gotten used to the toys he has that make noise - the worst was some annoying sound puzzle with vehicles and sirens. And he went through a phase of being truly terrified of a gym scoreboard "buzzer" - I think he's over that now but we haven't been back yet.

I think DD has a fear of bells - like those little Xmas jingle bells. Which is funny because I apparently also had a fear of bells at her age. She also seems to really dislike large hats (she really disliked my little reindeer antler headband at Xmas - though they had jingle bells on them - and she also really freaked out when we went to a Mexican restaurant for my bday and they put a sombrero on my head).

We were sitting in our living room playing the other night. The only light on was a lamp in the living room. E looked in the dark dining room and the cat came out. It freaked him out. Now he is afraid of the dining room. Even during the day he says it's dark in there. BUT yesterday I was putting clothes away in the baby's room and he shut himself in this little stand in the closet. It was completely dark in there and he thought it was the best thing ever. So I don't think he's actually afraid of the dark...
Meghanfelldown YES! both my parents are from the east coast. Specifically, my dad is from Newfoundland. We call the Newfie pool, which is basically a big bin full of water and toys. We are in AZ right now, but the pool is too cold for him to swim in and he loves his water.
The other day, a bird got into our house. I freaked out, then ran into the bedroom to wake up DH to help me figure out how to get it, and left DS in the living room with the bird. 10 seconds later I hear blood curdling screaming and I found him standing on the sofa freaking out. He wouldn't stop talking about the bird all morning after that. Poor kid. Thankfully, he's not permanently impacted.
The ONLY thing I have seen DD act afraid of is the part in the Labryinth with the "helping hands". I dont know if anyone will know what I am talking about, but thats how I can best describe it. She went on to yell at David Bowie and tell him to "get!" because "youre mean!". She is not afraid of much, and that sort of scares me.
