Hello everyone! I am a semi-regular poster over on TTGP, but have been meaning to be more involved in the blended families board for awhile now. I figured now is as good a time as ever. A little about my situation:
I am 26, my husband is 32 and I have a daughter from a previous relationship who just turned 9. By his choice, DD's dad is no longer in our lives and hasn't been since DD was about 5. My husband and I have been together for about 3 years and married for almost 1 year. DD absolutely LOVES her step-dad, who she calls by his first name, as well as my husbands entire family. However, she does have questions about where "daddy" is, especially now that she is getting older. I have tried my best to answer her questions as objectively as possible, but it is a challenge. Now that we are TTGP, I am particularly sensitive to DD's perspective on things. She seems excited at the prospect of a younger sibling, but who knows how she'll feel when a baby actually arrives. I'm looking forward to hearing stories from other blended families, to hopefully gain perspective on my own situation, and to provide support and understanding to other moms in similar situations.
TL;DR - Looking forward to meeting everyone, getting to know your stories, and being part of this community
