...but I've been feeling really good lately. My parents are gone (great while they're here, but so hectic and DH gets so tense), my DH is less tense, the kids are STTN, work is under control, I'm working out and feeling like I'll actually get my stomach back someday (i.e., it will simply not protrude - not talking about six-pack abs or a flat stomach or anything absolutely crazy like that), we're all 90% healthy, I've got a book club outing 1/month and skyrobics 1/month (google that sh!t - it's effing awesome). But really the biggest and best thing is that my kids are really wonderful right now. We're in a good consistent schedule and they're generally pretty happy and very responsive to me. Please, dear god, please. Let it stay like this awhile. Let's show these kids what mommy's happy face looks like.

That said, I will always bitch whether it's to stay humble or to stay sane. No Pollyannas here, MFers.

Skyrobics looks .... hard! I don't think I am that coordinated/flexible/enthusiastic any more!

That's great! I'm not quite there but I feel like I'm getting much better at just choosing to be ... happier? more relaxed? Despite my parents divorcing and all that mess, being behind on a ton of work projects and having a 1 year old that still doesn't STTN, a 3 year old that hasn't gotten the memo that terrible two should be over like yesterday and a 6 year old whose teacher has been sending me concerned notes. It sounds bad but everything is actually much better than 6 months ago so I guess it's all relative.

But we should definitely still gripe - or we'll lose our form

Are you zolofting and nursing? Andy success with that? My Dr prescribed me zoloft for anxiety and said I could take it like xanax. I am just nervous about nursing

I was nursing while I was on it, but not now. The doctor said there wouldn't be any problem with it. I also understood that you had to build it up in your system in order for it to be effective. It's curious to me that you can use it like a Xanax.

FWIW, to anyone hesitant to try it for PPD/A - I was seriously feeling just a little guilty and anxious, and I tended to blow up at DH. But I was feeling bad about things like DD still having a bit of a bald spot on the back of her head at 6 mos and ruminating as to whether I wasn't holding her enough (the internet does not help with PPD, btw). I blamed it all on sleep and a tendency to feel guilty about stuff generally (and my DH is a PITA, so that made sense...). I was dumbfounded that my doctor thought I had PPA, but she was really blunt about it. She also made it clear that one PPA parent and one parent with untreated anxiety issues resulted in the end of her marriage while they were supposed to be enjoying their first. It's not a miracle drug, but - wow - does the world change when your perspective changes.

@marlasinger - you were the one who told me I should get checked out. Thought you were crazy, but did it anyway. Thank you. Hugs for you. :)X

I'm so happy you followed up with your doctor and feel better.

Your story was so familiar. It was my story but I kept it hidden.

Thank you for sharing it. I suspect that you've helped others who read it as much as we've helped you.
