Today to get ready for work, mid renovation, husband at work SOME MORE, I put LO in her exersaucer and turned on the tv so I could shower. Got to the bathroom and decided showering was too much work, so I just hid from her and drank coffee quietly. Enjoy the duggars lady. Momma is exhausted.
6 month check in and shots today! Hoping she's gotten nice and fat.
I swear every time I shower while DH is not home, LO screams the entire time. However, if DH is home and I shower then LO will just sleep right through my shower. Grr
If DH is home while I shower, baby cries and he brings her to me. If he is not home, I just shower with baby. She's had a cough and stuffy nose for oh, about two and a half months with hardly a break. Thanks stupid colds. Point being, it is so very rare for me to get to take a shower by myself. But I get to enjoy my coffee uninterrupted every day, so there's that.
I'm last to take a shower at the end of the night when everyone is sleeping. It means I can take as long as I want. But I'm usually so tired I end up rushing so I can sleep

LO usually can hold it together while I take a shower. DH is home for about 1/2 of them. There really is no rhyme or reason as to when I shower. Since I start work so early (and wfh), and then we go for a walk right after work I usually shower at night, unless we have somewhere to go that day, then I'll attempt a shower AND wash my hair. It all becomes quite the production and I can't remember the last shower I took where I didn't feel like I had to rush.
pixie523 - you completely crack me up! Love that you just enjoyed coffee in the bathroom. A mom's gotta do what a mom's gotta do.
So I've decided LO has regressed back to being an infant and wakes every 2 hours to eat. Seriously, what's going on kid? He was 19 lbs the last time we weighed him. I think I might be raising a little line-backer. P.S. LO and I laid down to take a little cat nap yesterday ... um we woke up 3 hours later (It was glorious!) and yes I went to bed at my usual time last night.

pixie523- love that song! Also, there is no shame because I have definitely done that. Only these days I can't drink coffee. catlady22- Isaac does this too! I have actually resulted to baths and making weird sounds when washing my hair so he doesn't freak. I realize this is weird.... zengal- yay for coffee breaks but poor LO and colds. @jjh119- you know that is a good idea! Why I haven't thought of that, I am not sure. @

I am pretty tired. Isaac has now decided that me and DH taking turns, is not working for him. He has taken to angry screaming at DH for me until I get up and nurse then snuggle with him. Then he is asleep within 20 min. I am worried that I might be coddling him a little. We still haven't moved him into the nursery and some mornings, I let him cosleep for a few hours. It's the only way to get some extra rest in. I am just not sure when the right time is to move him into the big crib.
ninergirl52 3 hour naps are glorious! songbirdsinging55 Oftentimes I hold and cuddle LO for 1-2 hours after she falls asleep at night and we snooze together in our bed. Then I transfer her to the PNP and go pump. Some nights I would just love to sleep right through. Maybe when pumping is no longer a part of our lives.

songbirdsinging55 - I say coddle him all you want right now. Before you know it he'll be too big to snuggle with. My Lo starts the night off in his crib but usually ends up in our bed within 4 hours. He's been waking every 2 hours & it's the only way I can function. I just figure there is no point fighting it. He's just not ready to sleep longer stretches & I can't force him too.
songbirdsinging55 I will cuddle with my son every morning for extra sleep until he no longer needs it. There will be a time where we will miss it. This portion of their life is just so short. Enjoy it. Soak it in. There's nothing wrong with extra doses of love.

It sounds as if there is a sleep regression and/or growing babies around these parts. I know we're up a lot more than usual. songbirdsinging55 - I know it's hard not to worry, but if you are both enjoying the morning snuggles and extra sleep, I say go for it. And as for moving him in his own room, I think you'll know when it's time. Myles would still be in his PNP by my bed, but we were waking him up with our tossing and turning and mh's snoring. Enjoy the closeness if it's working for you. I miss waking up and having him right there.

I. Can't. Win. Drive by, will catch up soon. Went to the doctor for the itchies.....office gets closed down!!! Mentally disabled patient caused an incident, somehow caused a chemical spill and they evacuated the whole building. Staff and patients close to spill were getting sick from what I heard. Sent us all to their other location while fire trucks arrived. Fun things. Phone slowly dying.
pixie523, We had our 6 month appointment today, too! LO weighs 17 pounds. She took a great nap after shots, like usual. Yay!
I take showers in the evening and I put LO in her swing right outside the bathroom door. I turn on the music and hand her a toy, and she's entertained the whole time. If she drops her toy, she'll start grunting at me though haha.
I have the crabbiest of crabby monsters today. He's jumping in his jumperoo smiling one second then whining while jumping as if he is remembering he wants to make today hell
We went full whine last night, from the moment we got home till bedtime. Thankfully h promises to be home on time tonight, because lo and I are sick of each other.

littleapplemom. - Whaaaaa? Re: showers - I usually put the exersaucer, bumbo, swing, or kick n play in the bathroom. Myles has only had one or two meltdowns while I shower. However, I'm usually talking and singing to him the whole time.

I pressed send before I was finished. I felt strangely satisfied when LO was a whiny butt with my husband last night. For once he had to figure out what to do with him, and I took a long bath.
pixie523 that must be it! Today is hell. Has been since H hit snooze three times and it woke up Liam. Liam and I have basically been yelling at each other all day. He's totally sick of me. I'm trying reaaaaallll hard today.
H is at the gym now but he is coming home and I am fleeing! I need a few minutes before going into work today to feel like a human.
spiraltheory the good thing about working Thursday evenings is H has to figure out how to do everything. He has to cook dinner, feed liam, do bath time, etc etc.
Sometimes I come home and he's got a drink in his hand and a sourpuss on his face. I say 'yup- I get the whole week, you get 4 hours. Hand me a drink too' lol

I do the same. We have a small swing that fits in the bathroom fairly well. But lately I have been showering while LO is still sleeping in his crib. It is either after he goes to bed at night or before he wakes up in the morning.
songbirdsinging55 Even when everyone says it's fine, I still always have that thought in my head that I have to shush when I bring baby into bed. It's hard not to doubt! Just know how resilient kids can be...and that there's not any harm in making a six-month-old feel secure with snuggles! I think we're all doing a damn fine job. littleapplemom I read quickly and thought you said you were slowly dying. I'm glad you aren't, and then I chuckled at the drama because it really does sound like a movie! This is real life!? nerdalert So glad your appointment went well! pixie523 Hope yours goes well too (and that YH gives you some relief tonight)! Our 6-mo appointment is tomorrow. jjh1119 May your hell end soon and work be your relief! I'm just over here breathing through my mouth because my sinuses hate me.
LO has had a rough week. He started running a fever Saturday night. The doctor's office instructed us to alternate Tylenol and ibuprofen. The doctor doesn't see infants until they either have the fever for more than 48 hours or there are other symptoms present. LO's fever broke right around the 48 hour mark. Then the next day he started to get really congested. He's had colds before, no big deal. Well this morning his eye was goopy and pink. I am just getting over pink eye, so I thought maybe LO has it. I called the pediatrician's office, explained the symptoms and they told me to bring him in. Turns out LO has a double ear infection. So they call a prescription into the pharmacy. When I got home from picking it up, I take the bottle out of the box - it is a bottle of powder. Pharmacy fail! So now I have to go back to the pharmacy. Gosh I am not getting anything done today. I have a lot of work to do with deadlines on Wednesday. I am not going to have time to enjoy my 3-day weekend.
Showers - I almost always shower at night after she's gone to bed, or if DH isn't home I bring her kick and play into the bathroom and she goes crazy. songbirdsinging55 enjoy your snuggles!! Like others said, the only reason LO starts out in her crib is so that we don't wake her up. littleapplemom that sounds crazy! I'm glad you weren't near the spill. sjp03 I hope LO feels better soon and that you get the right stuff from the pharmacy. It sounds like ear infections are really common.
I had fun golfing yesterday and now I'm sore, which is kind of sad haha. They other night adorable coming home to DH and LO both passed out in bed. I drank more alcohol in the last two days since before I as pregnant. I've avoided a true hangover, but my body is sluuugish today. Back to reality.
sjp03 Pharmacy fail, indeed. Stuff like that makes me rip open the bag of medicine right in front of the staff and check it out before walking away. Sooooo much easier to fix before I get home.

I need to start using a new pharmacy. The one I've been using seems to have a high turnover, so the few people who know what they are doing are running around like crazy helping all the new people. I think the guy who gave me the prescription was new. When I went back he was still at the register. He gave me an apology, which didn't come across as sincere. His tone and behavior made it seem like he hates his job. Then he mixed it for me. He kind of acted in a way where he was hoping no one else working there would notice. Now I am paranoid that it isn't mixed right. It says on the bottle how many ml there is supposed to be after mixing. I am tempted to measure.
