So last Friday I was put on an antibiotic. Said antibiotic wasn't clearing the infection up so after I took my morning dosage (before I could get a hold of my doctor) my doctor switched me to another one which I took 9 hours after my first one. Last night I developed serious pain so I went to an urgent care. They once again gave me a different antibiotic (the one I thought I should have been on in the first place). I took that one 8.5 hours after antibiotic 2.
So this morning I pumped 14 ounces. I am thinking about dumping it because I had 3 different antibiotics with in 24 hours and I felt that was a bit intense. So would you dump too?
I hope your infection clears up soon. I'm not sure what I would do. I would probably call the pediatrician. I would hate to dump 14 ounces if not necessary.
By the way I'm jealous of your ability to pump 14 ounces in one session.
Thanks, I thought about calling them too. Don't worry, I only pumped that much because I went 10 hours without feeding or pumping, but that is about half of what I pump in a day...
I would call the pedi or the hotline emerald always suggests. I forget what it's called. Also could dilute it like with alcohol. Add an oz to antibiotic free milk at a time

I read this as "dilute with alcohol" and I was like
I think it's probably fine, but I'd call the hotline too. I don't think my pedi would really know. They aren't totally up on BF'ing and I think a lot of the time medical professionals say to pump and dump just to cover their asses.
Thanks for that number mrscjmb. I'm going to put that in my phone now. slsl509 they were amoxicillin azythromyicin and now macrobid.
Did you get azithromycin for a bladder infection? I hope not.
All of these are drugs that can be used in kids so I think you're fine. The timing of the 3 doesn't really worry me. I'm curious what the hotline will say.
