This leap will be the death of me

I'm about to lose it from the crying and lack of sleep. For the past almost 2 weeks, DD has been fighting every single nap, waking up multiple times a night, and fighting going back to sleep after those wake ups. She's stopped taking a paci and won't take a bottle when FI tries to help me. She's learning a lot at once, and it's exhausting for both of us.
On the bright side, she has started normal crawling (though she still prefers to army crawl), she can pull to standing if she's using me (she hasn't tried on the couch or anything like that yet...she prefers using my face lol), and this morning when I was holding her standing, she started purposefully walking towards my coffee cup. LO will be chasing after her older sister before I know it!

I actually was going to post something similar today, OMG DD is a nightmare with all of sleeping mentioned above! She has always been a terrible night sleeper but at least decent with naps, not anymore! She just did a 30 minute one and woke up a screaming mess! I have been blaming teething because I can see the top 2 coming in but its probably all the trying to crawl, pulling up, standing, etc....

I was just so frustrated too so I can completely relate!!!

I was blaming it on teething too! I just looked at my Wonder Weeks app today, and we're smack in the middle of it right now. DS is now up every couple hours at night, and awake for the day between 4:30 and 5:30. I'm still getting decent naps, my content, happy baby is gone. He's whiny and fussy and would nurse absolutely all day long if I let him. He's not crawling yet, but is up on all fours, and gets so frustrated when he can't reach something. I hope it ends soon. I need sleep.

DS has been more fussy lately too. Crying for no reason and just wanting to nurse or cry. He will go from smiling to screaming in 2 seconds. This whole day has been like that.

Thanks melw629, now I have to figure it out since DD was due 9/20 but born 2 weeks early so 9/7. She is 37 weeks tomorrow but is it really considered 35? UGH this always confuses me!

It goes by due date. I just plugged your DD's due date in my app (helpful for me too, since DS was due 9/14 but was born 9/20), and based on that date you have 19 days left, so I guess it would consider her 35 weeks? Good job keeping track of how many weeks old your baby is! I think after 12-ish I just stopped paying attention

Looks like we have about a week left then (DD was due 9/8, born 9/3). She was less cranky after her first nap today and went to bed easily tonight, so hopefully we've gotten over the hump now. Good luck to everyone else who's going through it too!

@lildiamondeyes I'm so sorry! I hope it doesn't last as long for you this time.

I had somewhere to be at bedtime the other day, so DH put DS to bed. It was rough...poor kid screamed for about half an hour, and nothing DH did calmed him down. After DS finally fell asleep, he texted me 'Man. I don't know how you do that day in and day out.' I think I'm going to frame it and hang it on the wall It's nice to have some acknowledgment that this is hard, and we are awesome.

Ok, it seems like this was just us last night. DS would seem to fall asleep while I fed him a bottle and then when I would put him in his crib, he would wake up, sit up and start crying....over and over. All that seemed to calm him was the bottle. Needless to say it was a rough night. We were thinking it might be an ear infection or something. He seemed gassy as well, so maybe a tummy ache? I don't know...we supposedly have 6 days left in this leap though... AHHHH!!!! I just don't know! He seemed better this morning and fell asleep on the way to the babysitter, so I guess we will see...

spacedcadet, It is so hard to know! Does he have teeth or seem to be teething? DD has been scraping her hand down her face near her ear so I'm thinking "is it an ear infection" but then I swear its just some habit she is doing when she is annoyed!

I think we are all in this leap and things will start to get better soon!!

He just has the two bottom teeth for now.  We actually just went to the doctor a week ago, because he was fussy and messing with his ear(s), and he had fluid in his ears and his sinuses were swollen so he prescribed an antibiotic.  I have been giving him allergy meds to try to clear the drainage up, and even motrin for the sinus pain.  The doctor checked his teeth because he thought that would be what it was.  But it doesn't look to me like the top teeth are coming in or anything, so I don't know.  He actually slept pretty well the night before last but the nights before that he would sleep the first stretch for 3 - 4 hours, then wake up and want to play for 2 hours and then go back to sleep.  It has just been all over the board lately.
