I feel a little better today thankfully but after two doses of Benadryl lo's cheeks are still swollen, hopefully they will improve today.
Well child visit this morning and then and afternoon full of meetings. I had hoped to take the whole day off with my life but work is too crazy.
Hoping to go up north camping this weekend if the weather cooperates! I'm really excited to take lo to our seasonal spot where I spent summers as a kid!
So after the lidocaine wore off yesterday I was definitely sore but today my hand feels good! I also got a nighttime brace to wear to help with my lingering carpal tunnel which worked like a charm! Next appt on my agenda is a chiropractor to help my back pain.
I'm glad you all are on the mend. Do any other babies yell at you? It's very distinct from crying. It's like baby speak for "Hey!!" My baby keeps yelling at me in the motn. She does NOT want to settle for the pacifier. I am well aware that she's playing me, but I just want to go back to sleep.
jax1182014 Yeah, November is the perfect time to have a baby! I'm going to try to plan for all my future babies to be born in the fall too.
zengal Yes, but for my LO it's more of a grunt/yell type of thing. Like, "Pay attention to me!" She also fake coughs for attention. Like when I'm cooking dinner and not looking at her enough, haha.

I'm just waving Good Morning to you all. I hope you get the allergies and various body pains under control. It seems like a period of huge changes for my bebe. He's pretty needy right now, but he's also really fun. I can't believe how much he loves to eat solids. But the diapers! We are going through so many these days. It seems as if he's always working on some business.
I'm off to figure out my flex spending account for daycare costs. I have a feeling I'm going to be on the phone with HR for a while. ---Anyone else paying for childcare pre-tax? Parenting has a steep learning curve!
spikesmom camping sounds awesome! I keep trying to talk DH into going soon. How are you planning for LO to sleep? I was trying to think how LO in a tent would work...
zengal yeah! LO will mimic our "hi" sound. It's too cute.
nerdalert, jax1182014 agreed on fall babies! It was so nice to be on leave during the winter. Now while it is nice, LO is just old enough to go do things - which is great!
Reading TB this morning since the link was posted in yesterdays thread...wow. I forgot how annoying some of the same questions over and over again were.
spikesmom FX those cheeks go down today. Camping sounds like so much fun! @jac1182014 I'm glad your wrist is feeling better! zengal LO does every once in a while, but what she's really mastered is the fake cough. She does it when we aren't paying attention to her and also makes it sound like she's choking and then laughs. Thanks for scaring me every time baby! spiraltheory ::confession:: I knew nothing about this and am going to have to look into this asap! I never even considered it gah. I have meetings just about all day today which really interferes with what I need to get done and makes for pumping at 8:45 in stead of 10. Random: not to bring up more wedding drama, but I am haha. I'm just curious for those who are married, how many had bridal showers and did you have a registry for them? I didn't have one for many reasons but mainly because I just felt like it was asking for more gifts when those people were already coming to the wedding and giving us gifts. Also we already lived together which seemed to factor in for me.

spiraltheory we are...DH has taken care of all of it so I couldn't tell you a thing about it. Other then our reimbursement is direct deposited very quickly after we submit our receipts.
zengal yes she yells and thinks it's funny to blow bubbles so you get hit with spit. She also makes the dadadada sound and giggles at me when I say mama.
DD is fighting sleep right now and I really need her to nap. I have some dishes to do and would like to eat.
catlady22 I swear baby is saying "hi!" too, in response!! Are you marking it down as the official first word? Her yelling, though...while it is admittedly adorable, I'd be okay with her just taking the pacifier and going back to sleep
jax1182014 No. Way. Our babies are growing so fast!! sadie74 I did not have a bridal shower and I did not register, but it was my second wedding (and for the first I eloped, so no to both again!).

Drive by post but does anyone know what the chances for concenption if you are exclusively breastfeeding and having had a PP AF yet?
TMI Warning The condom broke which has never happened and I would be lying if I said I was not freaking out a little. Given my history, I probably shouldn't worry.
Also, how funny that for so many years I had been TTC and now I am trying to prevent it. Not that it would the worst thing, it would be just crazy.
zengal haha I wish I could count it as his first word but sadly I think its just him mimicking me. I probably could have said "huf" 100 times and he would have "said" that too.

jax1182014- yah for the injections working!! spikesmom- hoping LO's cheeks improve. Also that sounds so sweet for camping. Hopefully the weather cooperates. zengal- yes! Isaac does this all the time. He mostly does it when he wants my attention. It's cute and very loud. spiraltheory-lol to the diapers. catlady22-lol! I read some of the stuff. Also when did they get a dietician?
jax1182014 OMG how is she standing?!?! LO is not even close to this and he's 7 months. That's awesome!
sadie74 our LO loves to fake cough too! So weird. As for wedding registries, we did 2 and only had 1 shower. We were living together for a few years before we got married, but that was in college so it wasn't like we had nice stuff already.
songbirdsinging55 I would think you are pretty safe...I haven't used any BC since LO was born and am EBF. No BFP/AF yet.
catlady22- thank you! I figured it would be ok but was not sure. I have Isaac's well visit so I may ask the lactation consultant.
Yeah, can't hurt to ask. My OBGYN said that once you go down to less than 4 feeds a day you need to switch to regular birth control instead of the mini pill. So I assumed that meant the more often you feed, the less likely you are that you will get pregnant. (This is probably not true at all, but thats what she made it sound like.)
Hey ladies! @jax182014 whaaa??? I cannot believe your lo pulling herself up! That's a game changer! sadie74 I also have a fake cougher, it's too funny how they learn stuff like that spikesmom so glad to hear lo seems better today.
I'm interested in how everyone's 6 month shots are going...Lo has her appt tomorrow and is supposed to be at daycare all day Fri. I just don't want her to go there if she's not feeling well. I also don't know if they will do shots if she's still on her antibiotics from the ear infection
Wanted to update everyone and let you ladies know my thyroid biopsy came back negative (yay!!)

DD is letting me sew while she happily plays with her toys at my feet. Although she will yell at me from time to time as reach for my fabric. I really think she'll love her quite book when it's done. If for nothing else all the fabric. She loves my fabric stash. I told DH to be prepared for even longer trips to JoAnns in his future.

@songbirdsinging5 - no idea, but I'd bet you're "probably" ok (famous last words) jax1182014 - what the what??? How in the world did she do that??? I'm all kinds of impressed, and scared!! sadie74 - Yes I had a bridal shower, but where I was registered was not listed in the invitation (I get a little anal about that from an etiquette stand point, where someone is registered should never be included in the invite). To answer your question I did not have a separate registry for my shower. I had registered by then, and if people wanted to purchase a gift from my registry they had to ask someone. spikesmom - camping does sound like fun, I'm a little jealous! zengal - LO definitely likes to yell, but not in the middle of the night as he is usually in bed with us (sigh).
So my LO does this thing where he lifts his head and legs at the same time. Pretty sure this kid is going to have a rock solid core by the time he's one. But he's almost to the point that he seems like he can pull himself up to the sitting position by doing this. Last night he managed to essentially do one of these "v-ups" and rolled himself up and onto my boob (I was lying on my back) and started nursing. Pretty sureI'm just a self-service filling station for this kid.
On an unrelated topic, does anyone have any recommendations on where I can find a cute summery dress that is nursing friendly? We've got an outdoor wedding to go to in July and I can't find anything to wear that wouldn't require me stripping to nurse.
jax1182014 Wow!! Pulling herself up already?! Awesome! My LO has just now mastered rolling in one direction. Haha! She does love to stand, but definitely not close to pulling up yet.
sadie74 I had 3 showers. Lol... One for my side of the family, one for DH's, (these two were in different states) and a friend one that one of my bridesmaids threw. None of these people were invited to more than one of the showers. We registered at Target. We didn't live together before getting married, and we were 20 and 21 at the time (and in college) so we had no stuff. The showers were much appreciated haha.
songbirdsinging55 I'm no expert but I would think you're probably safe. Some TMI of my own: We have always used condoms and have never ever had one break. And we buy cheap ones lol. I would probably be freaking out a little bit if that happened at this point too. I just want a little more space between kids!
kfaye Our 6 month shots went well. LO needed one dose of Tylenol about 3 or 4 hours after getting them. No fever but she was definitely having some pain. She let me cradle her and rock her while awake for 30 minutes straight. That is unheard of these days... she will only tolerate being cradled if she's nursing now. So I enjoyed the snuggles.
ETA: The Target registry was not separate for the shower. Just the one registry for all showers and the wedding.
kfaye woohoo!! I'm so glad your thyroid is okay! And our 6-month shots went without incident. No fever, no fussiness, not even more sleep. I hope yours go well too!
kfaye yay for the biopsy coming back negative!! nerdalertninergirl52catlady22zengal We had a registry too and I think it makes sense and helps guests by stuff, I just wasn't sure if people had specific ones for their bridal shower. The bride has an etsy registry and it's a bunch of shirts that say wife on them and there is literally a thong on there that is white and says wifey. I thought it was strange. Plus there were issues with the invites for the shower so they are just now going out so she sent out a mass text yesterday with the date and time. And included where she is registered and bra and panty size. I thought it was so rude! I would never send out my own info for lingerie. Sorry I'm bitching so much about this!
