I forget what I was supposed to be controlling--office space maybe? I don't remember because I got overwhelmed. I'm an AW though, and I rearranged this morning to fit 4 boys' clothes in to 1 tiny closetand I'm proud of myself, so I'm going to make you all look at it. Previously it was used for just M and O's clothes, and they weren't even in there all that well. Everyone else's clothes were scattered throughout the house in different places. I thought about how ITK said she hangs everything, and guess what? It looks like it just might work for us.
Also, have I mentioned Tackle It Tuesday here? It's like a mini version of Chaos Control.I rock at Tackle It Tuesdays

Nice!
I've starting using this calendar I downloaded called "Declutter your home in 15 minutes a day." It breaks everything into very small and manageable tasks. And if you miss a day its easy to catch up.
M wants soooo bad to help fold things. I give her prefolds and cloth napkins and hope she'll try but instead I end up with an army of baby dolls with prefold and napkin blankets.

This is O and our kitchen cloth. He loves folding it, but when I look away they disappear and I find them tying up stuffed animals.
I'm considering taking the doors off of the second bedroom's closet.
I want to start hanging things up, but I don't want to open and close the doors. C could pinch his fingers pretty bad if I left them open or E left them open.
Nice work SAK! I wish I could hang everything - but the time it takes to put things on hangars kills me.
I am so with you, Stringy. There is NOTHING worse in my mind than hanging things on hangers and shoving them into the closet. I would so much rather have stacks of folded clothes, but those inevitably fall over and get disheveled....wait, where was I going with this?
I need to continue eliminating oversized items in my wardrobe.
I did this after new years (we had a day where the kids could go to daycare and we had off).
I have so much room in my closet now. It's amazing how much stuff I was just keeping because I thought I might lose weight or would wear again.
I did this right after we moved in to this much smaller house, but was also in my 3rd trimester. I eliminated half of my clothing items, but still have too much.
I keep pants in three different sizes because I can wear all three in a year's time. Currently I am none of these sizes, so it makes it more difficult.
I am a terrible clothes hoarder, but don't tell my husband I finally admitted that.

We did this in M's room. He had a single door on hinges and it was just in the way all the time (his room is tiny) so we took it off and made a cute little door out of fabric that matches his room. It's adorable and so much easier now.
Looks great,SAK! I need to do this with A's closet. We pretty much live out of laundry baskets.
And I never know what to do with all three clothes that A grows out of. I *think* we're done having kids, but not 100%. And I don't really want A's entire closet to be filled with boxes of clothes that she doesn't fit into.
I've was thinking about the chaos control today too! Last week I was just happy to get through. ..the past couple days I've been on a roll tho.just little random stuff here and there. I got little bins to organize the junk drat in the kitchen, organizing and prior stiff away in V's room, bought a Xmas tree box to put away or Xmas tree. All the other Xmas decorations are down and put away. I ordered prints of photos to finally put in some other random things for V.
I love it! I hang everything I can. I love being able to see all the pretty colors organized and know that if it's not in the gray section, it's dirty.
sarenu I got those flocked velvet kid's hangers from bedbath&beyond on sale. I've seen them at ross and other discount stores too. I won't pay full price for hangers. I also flip pants/leggings over the cross bar to make tiny outfits.
I need help organizing crafting stuff, both my own, and kids stuff. I'm quickly acquiring a bunch, and is all ending up in piles everywhere. To make it trickiest, it all needs to stay out of reach since V can't be trusted with the stiff on his own yet.

I keep crayons in an old disposable wipes container. I have the rest of her stuff (coloring books, paints, glue, extra crayons in a storage bin.
I plan on cleaning out the front closet and putting everything on the shelf.
Also, thanks for this thread b/c it reminded me I need to look up the info on how to get a consignor number for Kids' Kloset.
Does anyone have any ideas for how to get old stains out of clothing? I've tried Shout and soaking in Oxi-Clean, but neither worked well.
I've seen Tackle It Tuesday on blogs before, but recently one of my friends started a fb group for it as well. It's where one day/week you pick one of those obnoxious tasks that never seem to get done, and you just do it. Big or small. Cleaning out a cupboard, taking the donation bag to Goodwill, picking up the pile of junk that accumulates at the bottom of the stairs waiting to go upstairs...whatever. She encourages before and after pics on the fb page.
This week mine was calling the bank to get my debit card replaced and calling to get the propane tank refilled. The week before it was replacing two electrical covers that have been missing for years and reorganizing the counter.
It sounds dumb because it's just little things, but I seriously feel so accomplished by getting one thing out of the ordinary done. Plus it's never an overwhelming task where I get half way through it and wish I hadn't started.
and what kind of stains are you trying to get out? how old are they?
