We were given a couch last night....I'm super grateful because I hate our other one. It was literally from the 60's and just horrible. That however made us need to step it up and re-organize the living room which I'll have to get up outbid bed some time to start working on. Then my dad said well while your at it take that mattress for DS. Ok. Sure. Why not. Oh yeah we have no where to put it. So, we took the crib and changing table out of his room at 8:30 last night and put the mattress on the floor. Then we had to reassemble the crib in our room. I was not prepared for all this shuffling around of rooms and now everything looks messier and way more cluttered than it already was.
Oh and I was asked if I wanted to sell stuff tomorrow at the estate/garage sale at my grandmas to help bring in more business. Sure, but I have a day to get things done. I made my husband mark his tools and I may call it good.
Had a feeling I was catching the cold going around, and I was proven to be correct when I couldn't sleep last night because of sore throat and ears. The timing is awful as I have so much to do today and this weekend.
I had gotten a new to me sewing machine Mother's Day weekend but still haven't had a chance to see if it even works. Last night I finally plugged it in. It turned on, and the buttons to make the needle move up, down, left, and right all worked. Then, I just got the thread put in when LO decided he was ready to go to bed a bit early. Hopefully I can take it for a long overdue test run today. It looks promising though after all the things last night worked. It is soooo much fancier than my "older" (actually newer but longer owned by me) one.
I really wish I could sew. I need to learn. This morning I took all of the knives out of the kids tea (I'm not sure why they are even included) and he said "mom if you don't give the knives back you're to go to timeout". Sorry kid, that's not quite how it works.
We went to the park this morning for about an hour. Tonight DH has to work until 8 so I'm going to take the kids over to my parents for dinner. I hate when he works so late especially since he goes in at 8.

Sewing isn't too difficult as far as the basics that come in most handy (mending, minor alterations, making simple things, etc), and a simple machine isn't too expensive even if you went new (which isn't necessary unless used are hard to come by). Prolonging the life of a few pairs of jeans or a few cases of being able to alter clothing that is a great deal (like pants on clearance for dirt cheap but a bit too long, so you can still get them knowing you can hem them) can help the machine pay for itself in some cases.
My guess on the knives is to put imaginary jam on your imaginary toast or something, but yeah, certainly not necessary for a toy, though why not just have them by really dull (thick blade)(I am guessing you had to take them because they were sharp, not just because they were a knife, but of course I could be wrong).

I have several projects lined up to make on my sewing machine. Three nightgowns and a snap up sleeping bag for DD. I want to have them done in time for her birthday so I have a little more than a month to do them. I have to really get the urge to sew though. Otherwise my projects sit like the nightgowns have been doing for 2 months.
We're supposed to be going to the beach tonight... maybe. A teacher at DH's old school wants him to take pictures of her family at the beach. I've been texting DH to see if tonight is going to work, but have gotten no response. I think after DD wakes up from nap I'll just give her a snack and head out that way anyway. Even if the family cancels there is no reason we can have a nice night at the beach and stay for sunset.

Both my mom and MIL sew and I'm always asking them to fix things for me. I'd love to learn but I'm thinking maybe next year because I only have 5 weeks till baby. My mom is about to retire so maybe she could teach me. I just am not good at fine motor type things. When I have to keep my hands still I start shaking and get nervous.
The knives weren't sharp but it's not like DS is going to use them to pretend butter bread. He uses them to run around and almost gouge out his eyeballs.
cam Boo to the cold but yay on the new sewing machine! I got a new to me serger. I have no clue how to work this thing. My mom says it's a good machine but I wish I just had a plain sewing machine, I know how those work.
