xp: breastfeeding and baby poop

We EBF and DS has just now started going 1-2 days between poos (he is 15 weeks), before this week he was daily. Since we haven't gone as many days as you between poos I'm probably not much help but I would think it could make LO more uncomfortable and affecting sleep because it's harder to get into a comfortable position.

Yes it's normal but our pedi said to call if no bm after 7 days... Good luck! I'm scared for you for the poosplosian that may be brewing!

The longest DS has gone without pooping was 2.5 days. He seemed uncomfortable and it was causing him to wake up to strain.

Our lo has other digestive issues, but when she goes more than 2 days we notice sleep issues. She seems pretty miserable and is super gassy when laying in crib

I saw your pedi said not to call before 10 days and he has had issues before. Poor kiddo! Yes I think it is effecting his sleep. When is your next check up? I wouldn't call since you already have a plan of action if you will be seeing them soon. However since this is a reoccurring thing and it is now affecting his sleep I might bring it up again and see if there is any you can do prophylacticly like probioics or something.

We are EBF and DS went 6 days. Oh it was bad and you could tell his tummy was bothering him. We had his 4 month appointment and the Doctor mentioned that it could throw his sleep schedule. The doctor said I can give him prune juice or puréed prunes with BM and try to get him back to being regular.

I think a week has been the max here. It could be built up gas or poop causing LO discomfort. You could try belly strikes for releasing gas and see if those help.

I can't imagine my LO going days in between poops. He's EBF and goes at least 3-4 times a day. If he hasn't gone in a few hours he gets so crabby and squirmy with gas pains.

Your poor little dude! I breast feed except one feeding per day....and DD has gone two days without poop twice and was miserable. I can't imagine 8+ days! I hope he goes soon and you are at home when it happens

We have gone 10 days between poops 3 times in a row now. She doesn't seem bothered and I haven't noticed any change in her sleeping pattern. She's straining a bit when poop is on its way but other than that she is totally fine.
Call your pedi to be sure, and be prepared for poopslposion horror

Dd consistently goes 10 days between poops. Doesn't bother her.
