So how do you all typically handle babysitters?
DH and I are going to an event next month and will need a babysitter. We have a 3 year old too but she's mostly self sufficient for most things.
Do you ask two people to come? I would imagine about two bottle feelings so I would think so? DD would mainly be handing a plate of food, putting on PJs, and sending her to bed. The twins will be about 10w old and so far (knock on wood) have been pretty regular with bottle times and mostly easy to please.
I can't wait until my family moves here in the next year!
My boys were fairly easy babies, but we still had two babysitters up until they were about a year old. It can be very overwhelming if you aren't used to it.
One time my parents were babysitting and the boys both started crying at the same time. My mom was making bottles and my dad was trying to figure out how to comfort both babies. When we got home, they were all, "I don't know how you do it by yourself everyday!" And these people raised 5 children, some very close in age. Lol
On the rare occasion that we left them with anyone early on, we had 2 babysitters. It's hard enough to figure out how to manage 2 babies at once when you deal with them day in, day out. I would never expect an occasional sitter to be able to manage it.
I would also have all bottles prepped in advance just to make things easier.
Our babysitter for DS has always been the 17 year old across the street, and sometimes her younger brother and sister in a pinch. I don't see us getting out much for a while, but I plan on asking 2 of them at once when we do. I think eventually when they are sleeping better we will go out after they are all in bed if we can.
