ITS JUNE!!! 6-1 Symptoms, Rants, Raves, Whatever!

Didn't see it posted yet today. But--HOLY BABY alert on the June 15 board. So awesome to see all the babies born in the past few days.

Man, I'm having constant menstrual-like cramps that wrap all the way across my abdomen and into my back. This started yesterday and I had it all the way through the night. If I didn't live 45 mins away from the hospital, I wouldn't have called my Dr. She said "Nope--just wait until they're real contractions". Cmonnnn baby!

All the birthing, the beautiful newborn pictures and the possible "in labour" posts are making me so happy and excited!

Yay for June!! Pregsomnia hit hard last night. Woke up at 3 and could not fall back to sleep. Pelvic muscles are sore and it is so tough to find a comfortable side sleeping position with this heavy belly. 4 more days...4 more days...I can do it!

I'm pretty stoked at all the babies!! Cuteness overload. Woohoo!

I took a sick day today because I have a sinus infection that's kicking my ass, and I'd like to recover my ability to breathe through my nose before returning to work. No one wants to sit next to the colleague who sounds like a pug, snorting and mouth breathing (though please note, I love me some schnouty dogs, too damn cute...I, however, am not so cute haha).

In addition to stalking the board for more baby updates today, I am thinking a nap or three sounds delicious. Sick or not, gonna try to enjoy this day because it may be one of the last "work days" I get at home to myself before LO comes.

I love seeing all the new announcements and can't wait to read more birth stores

I have a few randoms/rants:

1. MIL showed up at our house yesterday unannounced with a huge piece of artwork for LO's room. Thanks, it actually is pretty nice, but I thought we were finished with the room a month ago and now we have to rearrange an entire wall just so that it will fit.

2. I finished packing the hospital bag but I still haven't talked to MIL and SIL about who is going to watch DD when I go into labor, depending on the time of day, weekday vs. weekend, etc. I should see them both at the same time this upcoming weekend; I think we all need to be present to try to hash this out, because it is going to be more complicated than it may seem. DH's plans have major holes in them.

3. TMI alert but DH had a major toilet episode in the middle of the night last night that kept me up for over an hour (it sounded like he was in labor), then he was done he said oh I think we need to check with the hospital to find out if they have formula or if we need to bring our own. I just said ok, since I was completely exhausted at that point, but what I am really thinking is oh great, we are totally on different pages if he thinks we are giving LO formula at the hospital until my milk comes in, and clearly has forgotten about the benefits of colostrum.  ETA: Oh and yes, the hospital does have formula.

4. Then right when I was ready to fall asleep DD had another nightmare, woke up screaming, and insisted she had to come into bed with us. This has been going on almost every day for the last two weeks. Her timing couldn't be worse. This adds to my anxiety over MIL or SIL watching her overnight during labor/LO's birth.

Joining the pregsomnia crowd, going on 4-5 hours today. Blech. Woke up starved. Ate something, and have spent an hour and a half shopping online. Dangerous to give me so much time alone to dink around on the computer... bought a super cute nursing shawl I'm excited about though!

Yay June and yay all the new babies! It is really fun to hear of everyone's arrivals.

We are getting our new air conditioning unit installed today!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited, I can't even stand it!!!! It's about time!!!
Oh and last night was the first night I can remember falling asleep without battling to do so for over 2-3 hours in weeks. Like, I woke up around 5:30 to pee, and was so confused because I didn't remember tossing and turning and cussing out loud for hours. Ah-maz-ing!

budders Absoutely! Honestly, I think most people feel that at one point or another during their pregnancy. The closer you get to the end, the more you realize the reality of it all, which feels both exciting and completely terrifying sometimes. When I was pregnant with DD and wanted her here so badly, and they confirmed last minute that she was still breech and scheduled my CS for the FOLLOWING DAY, I was scared out of my mind. In the back of my head, I knew my water could break at any second anyway, but having that specific date/time freaked me out. I asked them if we could do a later date the following week and they told me there was a good chance I wouldn't get any doctors from my practice to be able to do the CS since they rotated with another group. So I asked to call DH and see what he said. I was on the phone with him at the doctors for nearly an hour and we must've said only 20 words the entire time. We were terrified. We laugh about it now, but we were so not ready (in our heads), but really - we were.
I also felt this little roller coaster of emotions before I got married, but it's much more intense with pregnancy. I have been happily married for 7 years now, and never EVER doubted it, but the night before my wedding, I cried like a blubbering baby for hours over the reality of it; because I was scared of the unknown and the hugeness of it all. I wanted to marry DH more than anything in the world, but I could not stop the tears.
These major, life changing events do some crazy stuff to our emotions - and all of it is normal!

I have four more days of school and I'm hoping I can do it! I had this weird back/side pain that woke me up around 11:30 that I was able to walk off and then I slept pretty soundly, aside from my hips falling asleep. They are killing me today!

I found out I'm GBS negative, so that's good!

Yes--I'm a FTM too and I'm feeling basically the exact same way. For me, I'm mostly anxious about how baby might change my relationship with DH. I really like being married to him and am generally super happy in my marriage, so I hope the added stress of the baby doesn't change things for the worse. I've been thinking a ton about that lately.

Wow. Woke up to 5 new birth announcements. That's awesome!

I can't believe we're here. I guess I'm in denial. For so long I was terrified to miscarry, for them to find something catastrophically wrong, then for him to be born dangerously too soon, now it's that my home and therefore mind aren't prepared. Every new gush of fluid (fun new symptom as of yesterday: onset of wet/stretchy cm) makes my heart stop that it's go time. Today is day one of maternity leave/unemployment/sahm-hood and I am about to go ham on my living room.

Yep. I cried after DD was born because I was SO overwhelmed with the reality of the responsibility. Now I just cry when I get overwhelmed because I want to pee alone... But seriously, yes, all those feelings.

I can NOT believe its June!!! All these new squishes are too adorable and I'm excited for our board to add more!

Getting up in the mornings in getting harder and harder (my back and hips take FOREVER to settle into place) and I'm starting to feel like a whale when I'm rolling over, but knowing I only have 2 weeks left of being pregnant is making me nostalgic and focus on enjoying it!

I couldn't sleep at night for thinking about LO. I'm currently stuck in bed feeling like I can't move, back aches are hurting!. I also lost my mucus plug last night - ew. Which could be something or nothing. I'm looking forward to tomorrow & celebrating two years together with SO. If I get the ring tomorrow I'll post a little pic maybe. Then it's EDD.. I'm freaking out! 3 more days!!!

I feel exactly this. Last night just the thought of being this little persons everything is scary! I definately had an oh shit moment! Good luck, I'm guessing it's Thursday your due to go in, it's my due date but I'll be thinking of you also & hoping for a smooth induction & delivery.

Can't believe our month has arrived! And of course the June babies who came in May are amazing (as well as their mamas) but I have to admit it was a frightening reality check to see the birth announcements board coming alive this past week!! Aah! I'm in the caboose club (due the 25th) but I have the full term milestone creeping up on me this Thursday. Where has this pregnancy gone?

My room is finally cleaned and ready, the nursery is done, laundry is washed and put away, baby stuff is sterilized... Hospital bag is pretty much packed except for those things that you can throw in until the day of.

Feeling pretty good! My belly is really popping this week!

Good Morning!

It's amazing to see so many birth announcements today. I think I'm also in denial that it's June, but I still have 3 weeks til my EDD. Starting to be in a lot of pain and today I had to wear DH's sneakers to work because that's all that fits.

budders, I have the same fears. I can't imagine how drastically life will change when the baby arrives, and it's giving me anxiety as well, but we'll adjust and learn as we go.

My random is that I'm very worried about my sister. She lost her daughter, who had special needs, in January, and it seems like now she's at her breaking point. Crying every day, looking for signs (of an afterlife) not coping at work. She's 46 and 14 years older than me, and she's always been the one to lift me up when I struggled with anxiety and depression, and I can't do the same for her...Try to remind her to be grateful for her health, her husband's health, her other two children (15 & 18 yrs old)...

I've encouraged her to see my old psychiatrist, go on Zoloft or some meds, meditate, basically stop DOING..she's always go go go all the time. But she doesn't seem to know how to stop. I just needed to lay it out here. I hope when the baby comes, it'll bring her some happiness...Hope it's ok for me to vent here.

budders I am feeling the exact same way. I find myself having minor panic attacks about it. I was telling DH the other day how weird I think it is that they just let you drive away from the hospital with your new little person. The thought is so strange to me. I have always had a difficult time with major life changes, and then, I'm always ok after the change has happened and we've settled in. I agree with everyone about the instinct thing- this is what I've been told too. After all, our mothers must have felt this way when they brought us home from the hospital (maybe even worse because they had much fewer resources than we do), and we all made it safe and sound to this point in our lives. I am just trying to keep reminding myself that we very much want this baby, and that everyone says having kids is the best thing that ever happened to them- we just have to actually get over the hurdle of the having the kid part

holliberry28 - That is really hard. I can't imagine what your sister is going through. I also know it must be tough on you. It's hard enough when someone loses a parent or spouse or even a sibling but to me losing a child is just unimaginable and I can't begin to think of words that would help someone in that situation. Just keep letting her know you're there when she does stop. I'm sure that go go go is just her way of trying to cope. Honestly- no advice but thoughts and prayers for you and your family.

Lately I've been really worrying about how the transition will be for DD. I know deep down that she'll be just fine, but I overthink these things a lot. I know that people will be coming to visit and wanting to cuddle the new baby when really it would be so much more useful to me if they'd take my toddler to the park or play with her. Especially if I don't get my VBAC... how do you cuddle your older child when you aren't even allowed to lift her up?

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am suddenly plagued with the thought of 'but what do I DO with her when she starts crying?' It's a huge change - one that I know there is no way I can anticipate because I've never done it. Hoping and trying to trust that those motherly instincts will kick in and that although the learning curve may be steep, eventually it will impossible to imagine life without having her around. C'mon Mother Nature!!


Oh and now that I am officially 6 hours away from our csection, nothing to drink, not even water. This part of it is going to suck because now that I'm not allowed to, all I want to do is drink apple juice.

Can I rant? Like my own personal Monday b*tchfest please? I'm so crabby. I'm so, so ready to be done... my body is so sore and fatigued, and I've been sick the last few days to make things worse, and pulled a bad muscle in my neck, and I'm just got my major crabby pants on today. I have no energy left for anything anymore. I wish I wasn't a late June baby, I just want to be done! Waaaaah!!!!! Okay, end rant. Sigh... but, yay, it's June right?!

I am SO at this point.  I thought that I had at least a week maybe two (since I was told first babies are usually a little late) before our girl would be here.  I timed everything around June 10th.  Then doc says she's breech I'm scheduling you in for a  C-section at just over 39 weeks.  Cue: "OH SHIT NOW WHAT" thoughts and an overwhelming desire to beg for just one more week!  I feel like I have SO much left to do, I'm not ready, this wasn't how it was going to happen, etc...I'm trying my best to let it all go and just focus on the fact that in 3 days I will be someone's mommy.

I feel the same exact way about my daughter and a potential RCS. I guess I'm used to sort of blocking my belly from DD anyway, so it will still be a natural reaction to block my incision from her, but it still makes me nervous. She is 3 and I barely ever pick her up anymore *tear*, but I'm still nervous about dealing with a surgery recovery around a small child that just doesn't get it.

Ohhh dang... so sorry @kej0004, I totally feel your pain (literally!)! DH keeps trying to comfort me by telling me I'm "so close" and the end is "here", but the end, in my opinion, is the most difficult and the hardest part to get through, so it's really not all that comforting... lol! By the way, your crab gif made me laugh! I needed that this morning! And I agree on the jealous thing too... I'm super excited to see the babies coming already, but I can't help but wish that was me!

Holy shit. It's June.

I've been spotting since last night, been super achy & baby still isn't moving as much as she normally does. I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon for an NST so we'll see what they say...

I am beyond frustrated. First of all, back in April my doc said he would be shocked if I made it out of May, based on how early and far I had dilated and effaced and baby sitting so low so we mentally prepared ourselves for that. Well it's June! Mostly I'm really glad baby has stay put to grow this far. That's the most important part. But the last two weeks have been one huge mind fuck. I lose my plug and have bloody show for days. I start cramping like crazy. Baby keeps dropping lower and lower. Then it all stops. Then two days later it all starts again, all of it. I spent last night rocking in the nursery chair for two hours because I was having regular, painful cramping. Did nipple stim which seemed to help and I thought things were starting up. Was cramping when I went to bed. And today. Nothing. Zip. Nada!

I have another acupuncture appointment today. It will be my second aggressive treatment and I've heard tons of stories about the second session being the one. My doc is willing to strip my membranes tomorrow but I am torn about that. I'm afraid it will hurt and start false labor and then just stop again and, at this point, I'm over my brain being screwed with. Plus, it just seems like baby clearly isn't ready.

I don't know what to say. So just, BLAH!

I'm sorry you're dealing with all this! You're definitely dealing with a total mind fuck at this point! Hopefully the acupuncture works, but if not, I'd do the membrane strip. Yeah it may hurt/be uncomfortable but I'd be willing to do just about anything at this point if I were you. I get your worry about going through that for nothing, but my aggravation would probably make me do it. I've been dealing with the cramping/contractions for a few weeks & I've been spotting since last night. I keep thinking that at any moment something's gonna happen & then it doesn't. Its frustrating!
Hang in there & hopefully baby gets a move on!

@jemomma I can relate. DH asked me the other night what I wanted for dinner. As I'm standing there, listening to the kids harp at each other, I asked him if we could tie up the kids and go out for dinner. DS doesn't want to do anything but rough, physical play, and DD is tired of him.
