I've always read if baby is sick, sleep training goes out the window. As long as he's under the weather, I'd whatever to make us both comfortable and when he's feeling better focus on getting back to normal.
I've been lucky (knock on wood) so far, but when DD was sick in January all I cared about was getting us both back to sleep so she slept in me in bed. Once she started feeling better, she went back to her old routine of staying in her crib all night. I think the bigger thing, if you can do it, is keep the bedtime routine the same. If you have to deal with crap in the middle of the night, at least that stays the same so hopefully when he's feeling better he's just back to sleeping like his old self.

+2
DD has never been sick but this principle applies to teething for me as well.
I slept on the couch next to DS2, who slept strapped into his infant car seat, for almost a month once when he had some kind of respiratory virus thingy. It was exhausting but the only way he'd sleep. You do what you can. Hope you get some rest ASAP!

Liked For you being super Mom, not for sickness :-(

I agree with the others. C is getting her molars in and nighttime is terrible. I put her down in her crib every night and then I'll try for 30 minutes to put her back to sleep. Some nights it works and other nights she ends up with us.

Just agreeing with everyone else! Both twins have colds, plus DS, and the last couple nights we have just been toughing it out. Once they get better you can work on routine, until then survival mode! Sorry I hope he gets better soon!
