The good- I did really great with diet and exercise this weekend! I'm also seeing changes in my body and that makes me so happy! It definitely is motivation to keep going. The bad- I'm still struggling to give up my nightly glass of wine! I love it so much! Also the scale isn't budging Plan- keep eating healthy, try to add more cardio and keep the wine down to one glass every other night!
Tell me the usual: 1. The good I had a great week food wise, even with company in town. I overall feel better which is nice. And I hit 90-100 oz of water during the workweek, which is huge for me. 2. The bad I had a lot of cheats and of course gained. Back to the grind this week. 3. Your plan going forward this week. Stick to my diet, water intake, and complete a work out 5 days

1. The good - no beer went fine. I ate pretty decently and no gains. Tried to be more active this week. 2. The bad - still had a headache to end all headaches on Sunday. Started reseaching giving up Gluten and decided to give up beer forever. Sadz. I may try the gluten thing on my period or hormonal weeks or storm/trigger days? I don't realistically think I can maintain that as a lifestyle. I would resent it way too much. I am clearly having an emotional breakdown about the migraine thing taking over my life right now. 3. Your plan going forward this week. I'm in research mode. Trying to formulate a gluten free eating plan that would work for me and still work for the family. I refuse to make everyone eat gluten free breads and such, but perhaps there are enough regular meals that we can eat that way a bulk of the week and then I only have to manage cooking 2 separate meals certain days of the week. I don't know. My head is on overload about what to do - thus research mode. I want to feel healthy again and in control of my body. That's the main goal.

xanthepants, check out the gluten free goddess blog. She has a lot of main meals that are Mediterranean inspired that look really good. You can also make regular meals, with meat and veggies then sub rice for bread or gluten free noodles for yourself. Sorry you are going through this with your migraines. If I can help at all let me know.

somethingcleverer,Thanks girl! I'm just wrapping my head around whether I think it would even be worth pursuing testing it as a solution. I've done elimination diet things 15-20 years ago with dairy and eggs which is different but it really didn't have much of an effect as far as we coud tell. But I feel like chemically my body has changed so much now entering premenopause and post birth.

I had a friend who gave up gluten to help with her MS and she has noticed a big difference. I gave it up when I BF Shane and I thought it was hard but there are a lot of really good gluten free products available at target and other grocery stores now. I hear the Udi's products are excellent and our target has a pretty big selection of them. (They have egg so we haven't tried them yet). I'm not trying to persuade you either way but just know if you do go gluten free there are lots of options and you have all of j12 to support you!
1. The good - didn't gain any weight 2. The bad - didn't lose and didn't really work out 3. Your plan going forward this week. : DRINK MORE WATER (my Breast milk supply was down today...I need to figure out a balance with eating less and still producing enough) and cut down on alcohol
I read this article this morning and thought that it had lots of good advice for living a healthy life in general. What do you think?

Duh. I went back and finally read it. I think it does have some more reasonable advice too. I like hearing how real people deal with their real situation. I particularly like the one thing at a time idea. I feel overwhelmed right now because I have about 70 pounds to lose. It's so freaking much. I don't know where to start and then I get scared about failing so I don't even want to start because I feel so fragile about life in general right now that I just cannot handle another failure right now. So I don't really start. I keep piling yet another thing on my plate to try and control and I feel like it's too much. Thus me worrying over taking yet another thing away or controling yet another thing in my diet. I'm freaking out and I haven't even attempted it yet. I'm already setting myself up for failure. I'm really just trying to figure out how to take a baby step that I know I can manage without overwhelming myself because honestly it's all just too much. KWIM?

It is a lot xanthepants. Maybe if you start super simple like upping your water intake. Then once you feel successful at that you can do something else. Then when you've mastered a couple things you can take on a bigger challenge because you have more confidence in yourself.
For me I feel like doing one thing has made me want to do more. I'm far from a success story as I'm struggling to lose 1 pound but I found those bikini body mommy workouts and I really love them. So now I make sure I do them everyday. I've been doing those for a couple weeks and now I notice myself trying to make healthy food choices. My hope is that it will keep spiraling in a positive direction and eventually I will meet my goals.
The good: I've lost 3 pounds, which doesn't seem like much when I see the scale but I need to remind myself I'm only hoping to lose 7-10 pounds so it's a good step. I've lost 1 inch each in my waist, hips, thighs and arms so I'm starting to see some progress after 2.5 weeks of working out every night. I really like the 21 day fix workouts and piyo I have been doing. I'm feeling stronger too, so it's making me feel better when I workout.
The bad: I need to get better about weekends. I go from eating pretty good all week to eating out a lot during the weekend.
My plan: Plan meals better for the weekend for breakfast and lunch. Not being able to leave work to get lunch forces me to eat what I bring during the week but on weekends I'm really bad about making smart choices unless I plan ahead.
bliz1712, and paddyb, you both seem like you you are working at your goals consistently week to week. Good job.
Thanks girlie! It's a start. It feels good to take time for myself at night.
I hope you get some relief from the migraines. I get 1 or so a month and can barely function- you are a superwoman with how many you get! I'm so sorry you are dealing with them still
