Fert reports ~ Does your RE share fertilized egg/PN info?

My fert reports contain PN (pro nucleus) info for fertilized eggs but I never hear anyone else talk about this...do your RE's share this with you?

I ask because in both my cycles, I had at least one 0PN/"non-fertilized" egg that ended up being a dividing embryo that they just happened to miss seeing the 2PN status of during their check window.  I wonder how often this happens...

I just received my first fert report today and they just told me how many were mature, how many were injected with sperm (icsi), and how many fertilized.

Thanks for your replies, gobucksoh and @buttmonkey. So basically for me in both my IVF cycles now, my Day 3 Fert reports showed that one more egg was fertilized each time than initially thought. At my lab, if they don't see evidence of fertilization of an egg/s at their first check, they give the egg/s the benefit of the doubt by leaving them in culture to Day 3 in case they either missed the pro-nucleus window (that only lasts a few hours) or in case the egg/s was a bit later to fertilize than some others.

No, mine simply said how many retrieved, how many mature, and how many fertilized by icsi and the "grade" which was only denoted by a number. In my case it was a 4-1=four cells grade 1. I really am dying to know about the ones that didn't fertilize but were mature. Like why didn't they fertilize? Did they divide at all? It's driving me crazy. I would like a much more detailed report thanks for the f''in 10k we just spent. I wonder if my dr will have a more detailed report he will be able to talk to me about? Interesting question and I'm glad you brought it up.

vballbaby ~ All the details I want to know drive me crazy too...so having such a detailed report from my RE helps me on one hand, but then launches me into researching for days and obsessing on the other hand At the end of the day though, I am grateful for the detail because I feel like it's helping us get some answers...as will our upcoming CCS testing of everything we have right now, whether they continue to grow and/or arrest. I understand that my eggs are older but my biggest question is re: DH's sperm - because his MFI is so severe, I just really want to know if we could ever have a healthy baby with it...that will help us decide our next steps if this cycle isn't successful for us.

In my research re: the 0PN ("no evidence of fertilization"/NEF) thing, healthy babies have been born from these eggs/embryos and a lot of clinics disregard them assuming that they just didn't fertilize. But that's not always the case and I think more REs need to get on board with being patient and reassessing those eggs on day 2 or 3 in case they missed the PN window or perhaps the fertilization was delayed...I think this is newer research and thinking, and admittedly my clinic is pretty cutting edge. The proof is in the pudding in my case though, obviously...eggs that looked unfertilized - twice now - ended up being embryos that were cleaving - they were in fact fertilized. And perhaps my 0PN this cycle is my rainbow baby!
