Anyone else awake? DD was fussing about at 1:45. At 2:15 MH started snoring so loud I gave up on trying to sleep (or on trying to move his dead weight knocked out massive body) and now it's almost four. His alarm will wake me up in an hour, and then he'll hit snooze for a least 45 minutes . Plus I had anxiety about a slow day for baby--and spent too much time reading about average movement at 31 weeks. Definitely fewer punches and kicks on the outside, more rolls pushes. But I got up and had some OJ and now between rolling baby and indigestion, I'm a mess. Not the Friday I wanted....
So sorry lawndog1216. Did the OJ help with the movement? You know that movement decreases and changes a bit as baby gets more cramped - so if LO is meeting the kick count criteria, I wouldn't worry.
I'm awake, too. DD went to bed with a fever (101.2) and that always worries me a bit. We gave her some Tylenol and she seemed fine - less warm - last time she woke up MOTN. I wonder where kids get these random fevers from.
Now is the time that I really need to really try to go back to sleep or else it's going to be "pointless" soon ...
It's 4:40 and I have the worst acid reflux. I'm sleeping with 100 pillows but I really do need to raise my bed. I got home late from work and basically ate dinner and then went to bed which I don't think was a good idea.
Here's a question: is acid reflux the same as heartburn? "They" say if you have bad heartburn when you're pregnant, your child will be born with more hair.
Also, I just farted and the noise woke up DH. Whoops

lawndog1216 sorry about the decreased movement. I say it never hurts to call the doctor if you are worried.
@lemon280 I say they are the same. I had heartburn with DS. He had some hair but but not much. The heartburn is much worse this time. Hoping baby has tons of hair.

Thanks girls-- the OJ got some rolling going, and I was just lying here trying to figure out how to get DD to school, get to a doctor 20 minutes away when there's no traffic, and get back in time to see her when actual kicks started happening again... So I counted and got 35 in a row, and stopped counting. She's still kicking here and there. Growth spurt, maybe? I'll probably call later on because actually neither my OB nor the MFM folks have mentioned kick counts yet.

Oh, and lemon200, I had heartburn SO badly with DD1... At my last few u/s we could see hair on her head, but when she was born it was strawberry blonde peach fuzz that disappeared. She was basically bald as a cue ball until her first birthday. Hope you're feeling better this am and you find something that works for you.
+1 for dd getting up at 11:30 and not really going back to sleep until 2am. thankfully h got up with her but i was still awake. and she now has a random dry cough.

It is so freaking hot in our bedroom and cool everywhere else in the house. I just woke up entirely overheated and drenched in sweat. Now I'm laying down in the guest bedroom waiting for hubs to wake up and discover me missing.

Hey Little Lemon,
You are correct regarding the poor timing of dinner immediately before bed. Also your food choices and the amount you consume in one sitting will also contribute to symptoms. Sadly, propping yourself up with pillows is barely a solution to your problem.
I found a list of things that included high fat meat, high fat dairy, fried foods, acid-based foods like tomato sauce or oj, coffee, tea, chocolate, and even raw veggies like cucumber caused me to have symptoms. For me, it is best to avoid these things or consume in very limited quantity... For example, I only eat five French fries before I quit so I don't get punished later.
Heartburn differs from reflux because your stomach acid actually splashes up into your esophagus and may even be regurgitated. This differs from vomiting because you're not really expelling any food--it's mostly just acid...which is mostly just gross. My OB also ok'ed Zantac 150, which is SO MUCH STRONGER THAN TUMS and actually helps with my symptoms if my dinner salad (goddammit!) causes a problem.
i hope you find a pattern and can resolve your symptoms!
Also, the acid/hair correlation is an old wives tale...and I have been known to wake hubs up in the same manner...fun times!

So, hubs and I had a great afternoon/evening. I picked him up from work with the car packed with snacks, cold drinks, our beach gear, etc. We frolicked in the lake (brr!) decided to hit the park pool instead, tired ourselves out swimming, came home to Italian Sausage, onions and peppers in the crock pot, then relaxed in bed in front of fans drinking sugar free Slurpees and watching Adventure Time. Great, right? HOLY SHIT- the combination of the sausage and peppers and the sour sugar free Slurpee had me writhing in pain by 8pm. Insane reflux like I have never before experienced. I took some more Zantac and some Tums and drank milk and elevated myself in bed- and fell asleep crying and clutching my Snoogle as hubs rubbed my back. Now I'm up and can't get back to sleep, but feeling better. But dude, what WAS that? It felt like evil molten fire lava was searing it's way through my body. Netflix it is, I guess.

elizabethnevadap, I had that the other night. Its the absolute worst! The pain originated in my chest and radiated down my arms to my fingertips and I could even feel it in my legs! It wasn't heartburn, it was full body burn!

YES. Hubs was getting worried it was something else, convinced it couldn't be "just heartburn." Ugh.
It's 12:20am. I have what feels like menstrual cramps on my right side. Baby is awake and moving around, which is nice, but I want to sleep. Wtf cramps? elizabethnevadap - that sounds awful!

Ugh, joining this club officially for the first time. I normally like when the babies kick, but after being awake literally all night with them apparently throwing some sort of uterus rave, I will be calling in sick today and making sure this isn't some weird early labor I'm missing as a FTM. No fun.
kcebeling, I thought the same thing about the heartburn/hair... but there are actual studies now that indicate a significant correlation between heartburn severity and fetal hair at birth!

mine too. He was all ready to call the doctor and get me to a hospital. I pointed out that all they would do is laugh at me and tell me to eat some tums.
Erma gard. DH and I took a nap after dinner WTF were we thinking. I did some power gardening before sundown just to wear my self out and now it's 10pm and I am wide awake.0-0

I'm awake too. Hubby is snoring loudly in my ear and I can't find a comfortable position. My lower back has been killing me all day.
I'm wide awake as well. My problem is that I'm not working right now, so I end up sleeping in and then I can't go to sleep at a reasonable hour. Even if I do get up early, I take a nap. I just need to force myself to wake up early one morning and stay awake all day so that I can go to sleep at a normal hour!
It's 12:30, H is sea to the world, the puppies are chasing dream bunnies: and I am up with night sweats, a headache, and BH that are causing some cervical pain. So trying to watch Pocahontas to fall asleep to, yet Netflix won't load the movie past 20 min in. Life sucks right now.

I've had a shit night of sleep. Slept from 1130 to 2ish and been awake since then...it's 340am. Blergh...we are driving 6 hours tomorrow to spend the weekend with H's brothers fam. Double blergh.
It's 4am and I'm up worrying about DD's diaper rash. There is a new girl at daycare and she's doing a terrible job changing diapers. Three out of 4 days this week DD has come home without being completely cleaned, leading to a nasty diaper rash (which she rarely gets). The one day she came home clean was the one day she didn't poop at daycare. DH said something to her on Wed about putting on diaper cream but I guess I need to explicitly tell her that when you change a poopy diaper you actually need to clean off all the poop. I feel so bad for DD I'm contemplating staying home with her today.
