Woke up at 2:40 to pee, been waiting to fall back to sleep for exactly an hour now. So tired. Can't stop obsessing about two appointments I need to reschedule, can't get comfortable. H isn't snoring, DD isn't screaming -- so why am I not sleeping??!!! I too forgot how uncomfortable the last month is compared to life with a newborn...
Our A/C went out for the second time in less than a week. It's so hot and our ceiling fan sounds like a freaking train. We're moving today and I can't find my benedryl, so I couldn't even drug myself to stay asleep.
I think somehow women should get a week between pregnancy and taking care of a newborn simply to catch up on sleep. I know it can't really work like that, but wouldn't it be nice?
Apparently, I just don't sleep anymore. My brain acts like a scanner for suitable (and unsuitable) things to freak out about in the MOTN, worries incessantly into the dim daylight hours and then begins to slowly crash just as actual daylight appears - when it's finally, actually possible (or more practicable) to do something to address the problem if at all. (Let's face it, my best work is not at 4AM).
I need something to do that's distracting enough to take my mind off of the problems, but not so distracting that it keeps me awake. Any ideas?

@telos I'm hooked on local FB swap groups, and the MOTN hours are when I do my most damage. I just bought 2 huge Home Depot boxes full of newborn-9 month baby boy clothes for $75. I don't really recommend THAT, per se, but it's what i do. And I eat cereal, because, nausea.
So I don't know if this is too early to post on the insomnia thread...
I'm not having insomnia exactly, but we are expecting out of state guests at some point tonight and I am having trouble winding down. They are coming from Oklahoma but driving a U-haul so it is slowing down their trip. We were originally expecting them as early as 1 AM (which is in an hour!) But from their latest update it seems like it could be several hours later than that. It is hard to go to sleep knowing that at some point we are going to have to get up and help get them all situated and deal with their dog and our dog. MH on the other is sound asleep...
I just had a dream that involved a waffle maker that imprinted something about Kanye being a douchebag on them. I can't remember the wording exactly but now I just want waffles. Gah.
Dear benedryl, why don't you keep me asleep anymore?!? My head is pounding because I'm tired, but I had to pee and now I'm just thinking about all the boxes I need to unpack.
Well well, we meet again. For some reason my right upper arm really hurts, random I know. That paired with my heartburn and a squirming baby are the recipe for tonight's insomnia.

I am up at 3am and just lurked a July thread where the qotw was about summer foods and it made me want ice cream so I'm eating that now. Only problem is that the cold and sugar is making baby go nuts. Tastes heavenly though.
I have actually done pretty well about sleeping through the night recently. But I just woke up from a dream that I was failing my chemistry class and couldn't graduate (umm... I graduated with honors 10 years ago). When I woke up, it took me several minutes to orient myself as far as where and when I am now. It was momentarily terrifying for me that I couldn't figure out who this snoring person in bed with me was. (DH, since when do you snore?)

Well, at least it wasn't an intruder. My cats decided to tag team an empty pizza box, and when I came out accusingly ready to...what, tell off? a bad guy, they all looked up guiltily. I swear, cats are just cuter rats.
Was sleeping ok, but I stupidly ate popcorn too close to bed time and I have the MOTN heartburn gags. This case is the worst so far this pregnancy, idk if it was the H2o or too many tums , but I thought I was going to throw up and instead I just peed myself trying. Not adorable. Hard to sleep with throat on fire and no solution but time. .

It's me again! So sick of all these MOTN wake ups. I feel like it's time to coffee up and get movin,' but if I (doubtful) fall back asleep, at 6:30am i will feel lethargic and shitty.
I swear I'm having sleep apnea issues. I wake myself up gasping for air occasionally. And my mucus membranes are so swollen that I can actually snore while awake
My hips ache. I feel pukey. My head hurts. Not really what you want to wake you up at 4am. Guess I should shop on etsy to distract myself, right? Always a good idea...

Unisom is mostly great, but I wake up around between 4 and 5:30am with the fullest, achiest bladder. It also takes until around Noon for the hangover feeling to lift. But I still wake up every couple of hours if I don't take it, so, lesser of two evils.

I should have taken unisom before I went to bed. I still wake up every 2 hrs to pee but can go back to sleep instead of staying up for hours. I would start with 1/2 tab though
I usually do half a benedryl before bed. And I fell back asleep only to be woken up 45 minutes later by my 5 year old standing creepily by my bed immediately followed by a cramp in my calf. F those suckers hurt.
I managed to go so long before ending up here! tmclawchick sorry about the no Tums. I had hoped that would help me, but no dice. I've been awake for over an hour and am giving up the ghost on sleeping for a little while.
I with you ladies on the heartburn. I've had a few tums and its just awful tonight. That and I had a pretty painful BH before bed last night. The good from it, kicked my butt into gear and I packed my hospital bag just in case. I just want to go back to sleeeeeeeep!
