How reliable is a chart after Clomid and a trigger shot? My pre-O temps look normal but they jumped up two days after my trigger shot and today's temp dropped down to 97.3. I triggered Saturday night and had my IUI yesterday. Should I just stop temping? I honestly have no idea when/if I O'ed.

My nurse told me not to worry about temps once I started on meds. She said they really don't trust temping to determine ovulation because meds can seriously mess with your temps.

My doctor told me the same. But they can pry my BBT from my cold dead hands. I need the data!!! That being said my chart is rockier this cycle than normal I think so I'm interested to see what my post O temps look like. Temp if you want but don't put too much stock in it if you're on meds.

This. I'm typically a "give me all the data" girl, but when my charts went bat shit crazy on the Femara, I stopped. It was causing me more stress to wonder if we hadn't timed the IUI well because my temps changed at a time I didn't expect... I just couldn't handle it. You know you.

This is me right now. Stressed to the max thinking my IUI was poorly timed. I'm still going to temp out of curiosity and because I don't like missing data, but I'll try to stop myself from obsessing over it. Thanks!

This question might be better for 3T, but since we're having an open forum right now: I'll be traveling with Lupron later this week. I've never flown with anything more in my carry-on than books and a change of clothes. The TSA website said injectable medications are allowed in carry-ons, with frozen ice packs, as long as they are declared. What does this mean? Who do I declare them to? When? Eeeek, this is stressing me out way more than it should!

I haven't flown with injections, but when you go through security just tell someone you have them and they will swab them or run them through something to be sure there's nothing sketchy going on. Maybe leave a few extra minutes if you are in a busy airport but it shouldn't be a big deal. I guess have the prescription/receipt with you too JIC.
They will take the ice packs if they aren't frozen, though - so bring a cooler bag or something.

After they check your boarding pass and you're in line to go up to the scanners, just tell the first TSA agent you see that you have medical liquids to declare.

Not true. You're allowed ice packs to cool medically necessary liquids.
Longhorn- I'd print out this page from the TSA website and take it with you too

Oh longhornwino0907, one more thing - I was recently flying with a coworker who had liquid with her to declare, and they asked what it was for(it was some medical/diet issue). They weren't being super jerk-like, but more a casual, hey what is this? So you may just want to have an answer prepared in your head for what it is for rather than getting caught off guard and awkward, as I would likely be.

I should read, but does this apply even if they are melted? They took my coworkers on the way back cuz it had thawed (and she no longer had meds with her).
ETA: Ok I read that they should undergo the same screening.I think she just let it go since she didn't really need it anymore.

Bolded is the key. If you have a medication, it can be complete slush and they have to let it through. If you don't have meds with you though, they can refuse to let it through since it's not medically necessary for you to have the ice pack at that point.

housecarder your temps will still be rocky, but they shouldn't be AS rocky vaginal temping.
Also, I take my temp after my longest period of sleep versus at the same time due to insomnia. Some people need to take them after the longest period of sleep, others at a certain time, and others still need both accounted for. It's different depending on who you are.
Does anyone get ovulation pain? Yesterday I had sharp pain in the right side of my pelvis after lunch yesterday until bed and now today my temp spiked and CM dried up today. This is more for informational and secondary signs to help me spot O, but would the pain happen the day of O or something different?
I have a question (and I'll be running to a meeting, so I'll be back in an hour or so).
My cycles are really irregular. Not only do they vary in length, I get multiple LH surges throughout the month. Is it really unreasonable to at least go for an initial consult with an RE at 9 months? I'd like to have some testing done so that when we hit the year mark, we are ready for intervention. (backstory - my OB already gave me a referral. She wanted nothing to do with getting me pregnant. I'm just torn about casually going to see "the infertility doctor," as she put it. Something about that word really got me)
I would go to the RE. Irregular cycles and multiple surges could be a sign of PCOS. If there's one thing I regret, it's wasting time not having started testing and treatment earlier.
And FWIW, I call the RE my fertility doctor, NOT my infertility doctor.

Yep, this is not uncommon. Some women never have it and some women have sharp pain every cycle. I have noticed it at various points mid-cycle. However, cramps aren't always ovulation pain. You can log cramps and/or ovulation pain as a "specific" in FF. I don't think it informs their algorithm at all, but is just for your own reference.

I have O pain every month, for 1 or 2 days. Sometimes it's the day before O, sometimes it's the day of O, sometimes it's the day after O. So no pattern month-to-month, but I feel it almost every month.

Yes, I get O pain. For me, it's sort of like really dull menstrual cramps. The problem, for me, with O pain is that it could easily just be indigestion or any other aches/pains that I get from time to time. It can be a good secondary symptom though. I think it would likely happen the day you O. And then you'd get a temp spike within 24-48 hours.

I've gotten what I think is ovulation related pain before - sometimes the day of, sometimes a day or two before, sometimes a day or so after the temp spike. I don't think there's a strict "it's on this date". I use it more as like a tertiary sign (if that's a thing). Like temps are my primary indicator, CM is my secondary, and things like O pain, sore boobs and loss of appetite are more like "Oh yea, this does usually happen after O, that temp spike is probably accurate".
I know a lot of you guys from the Bench or 3T/IF.. Do I need to intro over here or can I jump right in?
Whichever you like. Some of us read intros religiously, some of us don't. Some of us (like me) read them and then immediately forget the info that was in them.

You are me right now (except I did TI, so it matters less on the timing). I triggered Sunday morning and Monday's temp was high, today's is low. Everything I've read said that O is normally 36-40 hours after the shot and (and IUI is best within 6 hours of O?), so yours should be perfect. I think it can take 12-24 hours after O for your temp to actually rise. So it could be that the hcg shot caused a temp spike, and your temp tomorrow will be high as the result of O'ing sometime later in the day yesterday. I understand your frustration, but I would trust that they did it right.

I just flew with my lovenox. I just had to take it out for X-ray and tell TSA before it went through. I might get a drs note just in case since you have the added ice pack. Good luck.

I get it every month, usually the day before or day of O. Some people get before, day of, and/or after. Note it in FF if you notice it, but O pain isn't an exact science or anything.

Ranging from 25 - 50+ days. Not as irregular as they could be, but there's no discernible pattern.
Looking at your chart (and correct me if I'm wrong), but it looks like you've only had 1 cycle that was 50+ days. I would wait it out. Like @led mentioned, you are getting confirmed ovulation each cycle.

Your cycles aren't really irregular though..they vary by a few days but I wouldn't call that irregular. Unless you have another underlying issue, you need to wait until 12 months.

I'm just curious on what the science behind the "year" mark is. I have seen in mentioned here and in other books/articles etc., but I haven't seen yet what the reasoning behind the year mark is. Is it because statistically after the 1 year mark indicates fertility problems? If you are over 35, then, is 6 months the recommended time because you simply have less time to get pregnant so they want to see you sooner in case there is an issue?
