For the people talking about pain, is it a stabbing, throbbing, pricking or some other type of pain.
I get a "pulling" sensation on the left side of my uterus some times. Such as someone has tied a string to the inside of my ute and is tugging on it. It's the weirdest feeling and, although it is not incredibly painful, it is definitely annoying, and happens randomly throughout my cycle. It is VERY different from O pain or cramps. This is just anecdote and I don't know if anyone can relate.
My pain is sharp, completely associated with my bowels, and can be so strong as to take my breath away. It lasts a few seconds then recedes. But comes back in waves.
This sounds like my IBS pains. I complained about it to every doctor I ever had since my period had started at 14. I tried prescription strength ibuprofen, birth control, an "advanced ob/gyn", a pelvic pain specialist, various narcotics, switched birth control to a quarterly one, started tracking the pain in FF, and finally saw a doctor who looked at all of this and said IBS, gave me a muscle relaxer and advised more fiber, which is what finally worked- it only took 11 years of complaining about this.
Turns out that the hormones affect IBS, so I was having the worst symptoms during my period and assumed it was causing them. I had almost no symptoms the rest of the month. Why do you think the IBS is unrelated?
So you magically know that you will be able to time everything perfectly on a Tuesday?
That's going to be a major issue with treatments if you are going to do IUI.
Which again, is why I stated the timing clearly wasn't right... I really feel like you're not reading my posts at this point.
I think what people are pointing out that unless something changes significantly with your job in a year or two, the timing will never be right. And depending on your age/fertility, that could put things back by more than a year or two, potentially limiting your options.
I obviously know nothing about your life, but I personally would not put off TTC for a job, since it's so unpredictable.
Also, what will the family do about OB appointments when you do become pregnant? What about your maternity leave? These are valid concerns with so little flexibility.

The possibility of maternity leave and OB appointments won't be an issue, that was discussed prior to her hiring me as she knew we were on track for kids. It's multiple appointments a week and no flexibility on days of appointments that the problem. For example, she travels a lot for work...sometimes she's gone half the month. When she is, I work 5am-6pm as dad works a good distance away . He can be flexible if I have to have an appointment or if it's an emergency, but not if it's multiple times a week. I didn't intend to ruffle feathers and I appreciate the honest feedback...I just felt like my posts weren't read it entirety on occasion. I'm not one to get all bent out of shape about others opinions that don't agree with me.
I also don't want to waste an RE's time or an appointment slot if the schedule won't work and right now it's a factor.
Another question about pain; when I have my period I have cramps in my pelvic area, and it hurts all down my legs too. It's just a constant dull ache starting a day or two before my period starts. Anyone else have leg pain?
Yup! Starts in my lower back and trails down into my thighs and my knees. Comes in waves. My hips also feel like they are going to dislocate sometimes.
Turns out that the hormones affect IBS, so I was having the worst symptoms during my period and assumed it was causing them. I had almost no symptoms the rest of the month. Why do you think the IBS is unrelated?
A few reasons...
1. I definitely have IBS and it doesn't feel at all like this. This is far far more painful and less achy/sick feeling. I'm not saying it couldn't manifest in two different ways within my body (anything's possible!), but it just feels unlikely. My body has a pattern to IBS and this is really not it.
2. I've had IBS for fifteen years and this pain just cropped up about six months ago. I was on birth control since my late teens until stopping in 2013. I never felt anything like this before I stopped bcp.
3. Infertility.
Does any of this mean I'm right? No. Does it suggest that maybe there's an issue? Yes. My RE and I discussed it and he feels it's a possibility. However, we both agreed that a lap wasn't necessary for a variety of reasons. It's not ruling my life, but it's something to keep in the back of my mind as we move forward with fertility treatments.

Ugh. I used to get this in my thighs. I outgrew it or something, but that's the worst.

I do! Mine also starts before my period. It's been happening since I was in my teens.

That makes sense. The description just sounded so much like what I had. I'd get the achy feeling all month and then stabbing around my period, but mine was the same on and off BC.
I know we have a lot of late O-ers. What is the earliest you've ever O'd?
I I'd on CD 11 three cycles in a row, out of the blue. Related question: how long was your longest luteal phase? How much have your luteal phases varied?

Why is the lap unnecessary? I don't know much about this. My Ob\gyn has been pushing for to get one. I requested an RE referral instead.

Yep, I always get horrible leg pain the day I get my period. It used to be way worse when I was younger. Taking a nap usually makes it go away.
TTC #1 since August 2013 DX: Endo November 2014: Hysteroscopy, D&C June - September 2015: Clomid + Novarel + IUI #1-3 January 2017: Laparoscopy - endo removed

My LP is usually 15 days. The shortest it's ever been was 11 days and the longest was 16.

I haven't made it through all the posts yet.... But I could use some opk help. I'm using them for the first time and trying to decide when to start/what time to test each day. I'm on day 8 with cycles averaging 27-32 days. I'm thinking about starting tomorrow because I have had some slippery cf today. I work 1-10pm the next two days.... Should I test at 12 before I leave for work, or take it to work and test around 2? TIA!

Earliest O: CD15 Latest O: CD20 Shortest LP: 6 days Longest: 15 days LP is usually 10-12 days (probably 11 most often there are some cycles FF wasn't sure about).
****warning****
FWIW: Earliest O and shortest LP were both first cycle after CP.
TTC since July 2014. CP March 2015. IVF #1 March 2016, 5R, 3M, 2F with ICSI. Transferred 2 on day 3. CP. Surprise BFP and then CP August 2016 (prep cycle for IVF). IVF #2: zero eggs retrieved IVF #3: 6R, 5M, 5F, 3 (2 8A and 1 11A) transferred, one "B" graded embryo frozen on day 5. BFP (at home 7dp3dt, confirmed 14dp3dt with 1552 beta) and U/S at 5w5d, 2 sacs and 2 yolks!

A lap is the only way to conclusively diagnose endo, but it is major abdominal surgery, so not all doctors will push for it if they can rule out or diagnose endo based on clinical symptoms. It's definitely a good call to see the RE.

Yes! My right leg. It's my tell tale sign when I'm about to get my period.

Sometimes. I get vag pain more often. I described CD2 cramps to my H yesterday as "the worst GI cramps you've ever had, plus a white hot knife coming through your balls into your abdomen."

I feel like I know you and your posting style pretty well. I think what people are responding to is the "I guess we just won't do this now" type comment that came off a little "woe is me". We read your entire post, we just disagreed with you and your decision.

Longest is 12 days. Shortest was 8 days.
Well, wait. Technically shortest was 0 days, because I've had anovulatory cycles too.

I think most OPKs tell you to use second morning urine, so testing at 12 seems reasonable, as long as you've held it for a few hours before.

He thought it was funny. I did not.
That may be the BEST description i have ever read.

There is no guarantee the lap will help me get pregnant or even cure my IBS. They won't even know if it's endometriosis until they go in. My doctor is recommending it for me because the pain I am experiencing appears at different points in my cycle and there is no clear pattern. My IBS symptoms also do not always coincide with the pelvic pain. Sometimes I can be in and out of the bathroom all day without feeling severe pain. Other days, the pain will start out of nowhere after not having an IBS flare-up in atleast a week. Additionally, the level of pain I get now started almost two years ago, before I went off the pill and has continued without explanation. I've exhausted all my options at this point, if I could find relief otherwise, I would.

I hope you're able to find some relief. That sounds really exhausting.
