LO's Sleeping Arrangements

Where does your LO sleep? I think DS might be ready for a real bed, but I'm not sure I'M ready

LO is still in a crib. She is still doing well in it and not really attempting to climb out (knock on wood) and I'd like to keep her in it as long as possible.

I switched DD to a toddler bed probably 2 months ago. She adjusted AMAZINGLY well and actually started going down easier and sleeping through the night more often. She rarely gets out of the bed but rather just sits up and calls for me. It's worked very well for us, I could tell when we introduced her to it that she was excited. 2 months later, she still seems super happy at bedtime.

I do think it depends on the child though. DD is just happy there, I could see alot of 21 month olds not staying in bed. When we bought it, my thought was, keep the crib up for now and I can switch back and try again later if needed. Luckily we didn't need to so now the crib is in our room awaiting DS.

Oh, I also switched because of the baby on the way. Had we not been contemplating sleeping arrangements for 2, I probably would have left her in the crib until she started trying to climb out, which she was not yet doing.

My 3yr old would probably still be in his crib had I not moved him to the toddler bed about 8 months ago. He and I have been talking about a "big boy" bed and we are planning on getting him a full size and then switching DD to the toddler bed. I actually have been thinking that DD might sleep better in a toddler bed so we might switch her earlier then we did DS.

Both are still in their cribs and I'm planning on keeping them in for as long as I can. It already takes them forever to go to sleep most nights - I hear them "talking" to each other over the monitor followed by a *lot* of laughing. I can only imagine the free-for-all it will be when they can get out of their beds and into each others!

DD has never been a climber so we will still be able to use the crib for a while.

Still sleeping in her crib and loving it. She uses the springs in the mattress like a trampoline but never tries to climb out of it. I don't think we will change her to a toddler bed until we absolutely have to.

DD1s crib is a convertible so we bought another convertible crib for DD2 so we didn't need to rush things.

Still in her crib! She did climb out once during a nap about 2 months ago, but hasn't done it again since.
She loves her crib and it converts to a toddler bed, so we'll keep her in it until she starts escaping on a more regular basis.

DD will be in her crib for a few more months, I think. DS moved to a real bed on his 2nd birthday and did great with it. DD hasn't been trying to climb out (knock on wood), so I'm leaving her in the crib until the same milestone.

Crib, but we'll transition before the baby comes. We are going to buy a full bed and just keep the mattress on the floor for now.

H and I were debating when to transition DS from a crib to a toddler bed (really, just converting the crib to a toddler bed). We didn't want to buy a second crib, so we knew it had to happen before DD arrives, but we didn't want it to be right after she arrived in case DS felt like the baby was stealing his bed. Plus, we're currently moving and we thought that would be too much change all at once.

DS decided for us - we caught him climbing out one morning about 2 weeks ago. We converted the crib to a toddler bed that day. The first nap time was rough, but it's been pretty smooth sailing since then. Because we'll need the crib for baby 2 in a couple months, we'll be transitioning DS to a regular bed (queen size - either mattress on the floor to start or with a rail) in July. Fingers crossed that transition goes smoothly too!

Still a crib for us though I've been considering a transition. She's been a monster at bedtime lately and I thought maybe converting her crib to a toddler bed would allow for me to lay next to her for a bit rather than trying to put her in my bed and then move her back. We don't have a ton of options because we're in a 1 bedroom apt in NY and we share a room with her (though divided with a bookshelf and curtain) so it's either her crib or our bed because the living room has all the toys so rocking out there isn't even an option anymore. She's been liking her crib again for the moment though and she's not climbing out though she's starting to step on her pillow and I'm worried she'll get out soon. So for now we're leaving her in the crib.

We switched to a twin in March. After I realized she was turning sideways motn and waking herself up multiple times per night.... she's done great, sometimes she gets up when she wakes sometimes she just sits in the bed and cries. I always put a gate up though. And I rock/sing her to sleep. When she wakes up in the night I just go in and lay with her for a couple of minutes and she goes right back to sleep.

Still in a crib. We have to sleep train her all over again. She's waking up in the MOTN and not going back to sleep so that starts tonight.
