Not from WV but used to drive thru it every summer to visit my grandparents in OK. There was this Stuckey's with a creepy wooden bear. Kids could pull lollipops out of his crotch. Wish I had a pic to this day.

@spurp!! I'm from WV, too - southern WV, though. And I wear shoes and everything! It's pretty cool. Also, DH got his Ph.D. from Virginia Tech, so I've spent so much time in Blacksburg. We were dating long-distance while he was there, and I've made that drive so many times.
I am weirdly proud that the awesome Purp is a fellow West Virginian. You're right up there with ... I don't know ... Don Knotts?

Whee! I'm in Ohio Co., so. WAY at the top. When people ask where I'm from, I basically say "close to Pittsburgh."
I fucking love Blacksburg. My husband doesn't want to move, but I'm always like "get a job with VT, so we can get out of herrrrrre." That's the only place I'd really consider moving. I really do love living here. Besides the jailspitols.
Why won't it let me edit? Ah, the mysterious ProBoards. Anyway - forgot to ask what part of the state you're from, allieco?
The big city lol. Charleston. We have running water, it's probably not 100% safe anymore!
Whoops, I didn't keep reading the thread.
The only thing I remember about Charleston is the mall, because I went to states for tennis in highschool and we were pumped to go to the mall. Priorities.

I haven't been up your way much. I did go to cabelas once with DH and DD1 but we have one now here so we haven't been back. And it's really not my thing anyway lol. Dd1 likes DH to take her to see the fish.
The mall is pretty popular especially when different tournaments are in town. It's crazy during the high school basketball tournament. I usually steer clear of it then.
We traveled through WV on our way to Nashville last year. Both ways our phones switched to roaming and said we were now out of the country
That seems about right. Anything south of the mason dixon line is like a different country from north of the mason dixon line. We do not stray from the interstate.

My cousin was a state senator and spent a ton of time in Charleston. He's retired now, though.
I live like 5 minutes from Cabelas! I can see the lights from my window. I hate everything about it, except the fudge.
