Updated - Friend's Stepson *TRIGGER WARNING*(loss mentioned)

I just wanted to update to let everyone know it is not good news for my friend and her family. Thank you for putting positive thoughts/prayers out to them, they have received so much support in the community, it is amazing and uplifting. This story has been covered on the local news here, and I'm guessing it will continue to be if/when the police complete their investigation.

A very dear friend of mine has found her family in a horrific situation. Her stepson was injured at his sitters house. The sitter and her husband are being investigated into the situation.
I visited them at the hospital yesterday. I don't want to give out much information, but the child is fighting for his life. Please spare some good thoughts for him, he needs all the positivity he can get.
The situation has left me emotionally drained and pretty incapable of dealing with anything right now. I am going to probably be around, but not posting much. I love having this community as a distraction from my mind right now, but most of the positivity I can muster is given to my son. I am so sad and angry over this whole situation. I will try to be more active once things improve, or when I come to a better place.
