Where do you plan on having LO's 2 year birthday party? Will there be a theme?

Right now we won't have a second birthday party. We will probably do something small. Lunch and cake. Nothing fancy. It will just be DH, DS, and I. DS can have a party however someone else will need to plan, invite guests, clean up, and etc.

Am I the only one not having a second birthday party?

We'll likely do something small at the house, immediate family and maybe a few friends. I haven't picked a theme yet.

We are going to just have a small party at home and invite some friends with kids around the same age and her cousins. Nothing too exciting, just lots of snacks and cake.

I am actually hoping to have a larger party then we did last year. For her first, we just had immediate family at our house. This year I hope to invite a few friends, ones with kids and also ones without, we will have it at our house again. The theme will be Abby Caddaby and a little Elmo thrown in. and yes, I already have a Pinterest board and most of the party planned out lol

I honestly hadn't thought about it until I read your post. We will do something small with both sets of grandparents and her two local uncles.

We don't normally do anything big. It will likely be cake at my ILs with my sister and her 4 kids over.

I would like to rent this indoor playground at a church nearby. It's only $50 to rent but I'm not actually sure if we will or not. I'm not ready to commit to it and it may be booked by the time I am. If that falls through we'll probably just do a splash party in our backyard with the sprinklers and kiddy pool. DD loves that as much as anything anyway.

I'm trying to keep it small but only because we don't have room for the presents. We live in a 1 bedroom NYC apt and we don't have room for her to get gifts from both sides of the family like last year. We went all out for the first birthday (she had 2 parties one for each side of the family) and we won't be doing that again. My plan is to have my parents, inlaws, and siblings to our place and do a small gathering at the park with cake and snacks. I love hosting parties, but we just don't have room right now!

We have done big parties for when they turn one and then for my sons 2nd bday we almost did nothing but my MIL saved the day and came over with presents and cupcakes. In my defense I had a 6 month old when he turned two so it was a shit show at our house. So Since I did nothing for him my plan is to a small get together for DD with just family. For DS 2nd bday we took the day off work and brought him to the zoo and took him to breakfast and dropped DD off at day care. So we really got to spend the day just the 3 of us. It was awesome and I would like to continue that tradition of DH and I spending quality time with each kid on their birthday.

On her actual birthday, we will spend time doing something she likes..maybe the zoo. We are having a birthday party for her the following weekend, with both of our immediate families. Dr Seuss themed, nothing very fancy, probably at my ILs or the shelter house at the park. I've got a cake already ordered from my favorite baker and we'll probably have some easy snack foods too. I'll have a one month old baby and will probably not feel up to much.

I think we may do something a lot more low key and simple this year. Last year was too stressful and a lot of work! We may have it at the same place as last year (DH's family's camp) or one of the grandparent's houses. If we invite all the same people we may just order pizza, wings, 2 liters, and a cake with few decorations. If its just the grandparents we may do a cookout.
