How are the fur babies adjusting?

How are the fur babies adjusting to the outside babies?  

My sweet Eva is doing well.  She was a little stressed out at first, and lost a little bit of weight, but she's adjusting.  She's so sweet and gentle with Charlotte.

We have 2 Siamese cats. One has kind of checked her (we have a Charlotte too out but really pays her no mind. The other is ALL about her. Lies on the end of the bed watching her in the PNP, comes running over all concerned when she cries, follows me all around when I have the baby. It's funny how protective he is. I've been giving them extra attention because they are definitely feeling their bump down the totem pole.

Mine is doing better this time around. Still not super interested in the baby, but at least he acknowledges the kid's presence. And he's much more "on" about alerting us to the baby's cries.

Our cat couldn't care less about Tinsley. She does check her out on occasion, but mostly stays away. Our dog however, is all about the baby. He lays by her, snuggles when I'm feeding her, watches her, and licks her toes and hands when she cries. He's such a sweet pup.

Our cat is just going with the flow for the most part this time. With DS she wouldn't come in the same room as me or him for the first 3 weeks. She has smelled LOs stuff some and I think even her already. The only real weird thing was the (1st?) Day home I found the at hiding in the PnP under the changing table portion....I don't recall her ever getting into the PnP all the time we had it set up for DS.

Tucker loves his new baby brother. He likes to lick the milk off of Z's hands after he nurses. He's a little unsure of how close he wants to be sometimes, so he'll look back and forth between Z and I as if he's asking permission. I was a little nervous, but he's never behaved better. Meeko is coming around, but she mostly just hides from him and occasionally sniffs him over.

My little Boston terrier Monster is coming around. The first week or so you could tell he couldn't seem to work out if LO was an animal or human or what. When she'd cry he'd run and hide in the basement. He likes to sniff her and then seems to become a little worried when she moved suddenly. The last few days he's seemed to chill a bit. Barking a bit more for attention and bringing us toys to play with him more.

Our cat doesn't care.

The pup went through this must smell and lick the baby every second phase but now she is good and says hi when she hasn't seen the baby in a while. she follows me around everywhere but seems to not be too upset ha

Cat owners, anything you've done to discourage them from getting to close to the baby at night? My mom (and every other old lady) has questioned me on how I plan to prevent my 2 cats from smothering the baby...

Oh man we have heard that here as well.  All the older ladies at my DH's office telling us to keep them out because they will "smother the baby".  No lady, they won't, but thanks.  We basically kept the cats out of anything that is where the baby will lay.  Crib, PNP, bouncy seat while I was pregnant.  They know they are not allowed.  They both will sleep at the end of the bed which is right near the PNP where she's sleeping and just watch her.  We are careful about having the monitor on when she is upstairs sleeping and we are not in the same room but so far, the cats have been just fine with her.

My two big dogs are only interested when baby cries. My chihuahua is super protective and growls at the big dogs if they get too close. He likes to lick the baby feet. He also barks at any noise that happens near the front door. Baby sleeps through the barking so it isn't an issue.
