We are renting a beach house in a couple weeks and now that DS is very mobile, how would you ladies baby proof?
This is a huge family trip so there will be 13 adults to keep and eye out. The house is 3 stores, so lots of stairs, but I don't know how the layout works. I do plan on moving breakable objects out of reach, bringing a cabinet lock for the cabinet under the sink with cleaning products, and some outlet covers that are out in the open.
Should I bring a baby gate for the stairs or just hope I can barricade using chairs and hope that having everyone looking after him isn't too stressful? Also, is there anything else you would bring or do that I'm forgetting?
I'd bring a baby gate for the stairs and that's about it. Honestly, I wouldn't even worry about the outlet covers (but that's me). Have fun at the beach!

Pretty much this. We'll be at my parents' lake house this weekend for a week and I'm just banking on the fact that she's rarely going to be put down or out of our sight!

Thanks ladies!
DS has a habit of being drawn to outlets that are out in the open and plug covers don't take up much room. He also loves to open cabinet doors so i figured the chemical cabinet should be locked.
I will add the baby gate to the list and bring it with us. He's pretty quick and I think it will save everyone some stress by having something to block the stairs.

This. We just got back from a mini trip (3 night). We took a gate for the stairs and that was it. DD wasn't interested in getting into trouble, luckily.

We're renting a house in Hawaii. I haven't even started figuring out what we're going to do about that. I think we may just have to bite the bullet and but a cheap PNP and baby gate at a Walmart when we get there which is an expense I am NOT looking forward to.

Hotels should allow you to ship items ahead of time.
I don't know how we would do that with a rental house, though? We would be at the mercy of whomever is staying thrtr before us or the hoping someone from the management company would help us out, but I feel like it could easy get "lost".

Could you check a PNP?
I honestly didn't even really think about this. I may have to go this route, bc the $25 check bag fee would be way cheaper. But it makes me nervous the plastic may get broken in transit. Ours is one of the more expensive models. I could get a cheap one and then check that, but then for the hassle it might be easier to just buy one.

Find a box it'd fit in and check it in that for extra protection from breakage? Or ask the management company if they have cribs or PNPs you could rent?
